Vermutlich in den 60er Jahren in Japan hergestellt wurde dieses Spektiv vom US "Kmart" Konzern verkauft. Das Label an der Oberseite des Prismengehäuses trägt sowohl das Kmart-Logo als auch ein Herstellerlogo – ein Z in einer Raute – neben der Aufschrift "Made in Japan". Die weitere Beschriftung lautet: "17x60 FOCAL 20-20-63 P.P. No 55-40049" (s. Foto 2). | Probably made in the 60s in Japan this scope was sold through "Kmart". Das Spektiv hat einen 16cm langen und 7x7cm breiten Objektivtubus aus grau-grün lackiertem Metall, an dessen äußeren Ende das blau vergütete 60mm Objektiv mit einer quadratischen Fassung eingeschraubt ist, und in dessen anderen Ende innen eine Gesichtsfeldblende eingschoben und unten ein Stativadapter angeschraubt ist. |
The spotting scope has a 16cm long and 7x7cm wide objective tube made of greyish-green painted metal. At its end the blue coated square obkective frame is fixed by screws, bearing a 60mm lens. The other end has a ray diaphragm inside and a tripod mount attched at the bottom. The pentagonal black lacquered prism housing is 73mm long and also made of metal. There are focusing knobs at its right side. The bigger one (33mm) is intented for (and labeled) 'coaxial quick focusing', the smaller 21mm knob on top of the bigger one is used for (and labeled) 'coaxial micro adjusting'. The prism cover at the ocular side is held by four screws; the porro 1 prism system is attached to its inside. The focussing wheels move the prism system. The 35mm ocular tube is screwed into this cover bearing the ocular lens system missing its eyecup. The ocular tube also has a thread at its bottom that might have been used for an ocular cap.(s.
