Carl Zeiss "Stanziava"

12x / 15x / 20x / 24x 60mm

Eines der ersten terrestrischen Aussichtsfernrohre mit kurzer Baulänge (kurzbrennweitig) neben und nach dem kleinen Dosenfernrohr war ab ca. 1905 das 60mm Monokular mit Wechselokularen ("Stanziava"). Jeweils zwei Okulare wurden mitgeliefert - möglich waren 12x, 15x, 20x und 24x (die binokulare Variante "Stanzio" wurde nur mit festem 15x Okular angeboten). Die Fokussierung geschah durch den drehbaren Stecktubus des Okularstücks. Es hatte ein rundes Prismengehäuse mit Porro-II-Prismen, einen konischen Objektivtubus mit ausziehbarer Sonnenblende und Schutzkappe. Es konnte mit einer Schwalbenschwanzmontierung und mit einem Stativadapter auf einem Holzstativ gesetzt werden. Eine Visiereinrichtung wurde auf Kundenwunsch angebracht. Das Prismen-Fernrohr (1) und alle Teile außer dem Stativ wurden in einem zylindrischen Lederköcher geliefert. In dessen Deckel konnten auf einem klappbaren Zwischendeckel das Zweitokular (2), der Stativadapter (3), und innen am oberen Deckel eine Baumschraube (4) befestigt werden. Das kurzbrennweitige Aussichtsfernrohr wurde nicht sofort, aber bald unter dem Telegrammwort "Stanziava" geführt. In einem englischsprachigen Katalog von 1908 wurde das Modell mit Stativ als "Stapede" verkauft. Vermutlich wurde es in dieser Art bis zum 1. Weltkrieg gebaut. Die Nachfolgeversion war das "Tela". Als 15x60 Modell wurde es sehr ähnlich dem Tela für die Signal- und Blinkgeräte-Truppen gebaut.

One of the first terrestrial observation telescopes with a short overall length (short focal length), alongside and following the _Dosenfernrohr kleines Modell, was the 60mm monocular with interchangeable eyepieces ("Stanziava"), introduced around 1905. Two eyepieces were included – 12x, 15x, 20x, and 24x magnifications were available (the binocular version, "Stanzio," was only offered with a fixed 15x eyepiece). Focusing was achieved via the rotating tube of the eyepiece assembly. It featured a round prism housing with Porro II prisms, a conical objective tube with a retractable sunshade and protective cap. It could be mounted on a wooden tripod using a dovetail mount and tripod adapter. An analogue sight was available upon request. The prism telescope (1) and all parts, except the tripod, were supplied in a cylindrical leather case. The lid had a hinged intermediate cover for attaching the secondary eyepiece (2), the tripod adapter (3), and a tree screw (4) to the inside of the upper lid. The short focal length observation telescope was not immediately, but soon after its introduction, marketed under the telegram word "Stanziava". In an English-language catalog from 1908, the model with a tripod was sold as the "Stapede." It was presumably manufactured in this form until World War I. The successor version was the "Tela". A 15x60 model, very similar to the Tela, was also produced for signaling and blinking troops.

Das Modell "Stanzivia" weist eine etwas gedrungenere Bauform auf mit einem leicht längerem und dickeren Prismengehäuse sowie einen angeschraubten konischen Objektivtubus mit verdickten Ansatzstück im Vergleich zum Nachfolgemodell. Das (aufgeschraubte) Korn des Visiers lässt sich einklappen, die Kimme ist am unteren Deckel des Prismengehäuses angeschraubt. Dabei erlaubt es das Lösen der dickeren oberen Schraube die Kimme ggf. nachzujustieren. Der breitere Sockelring der Okularhülse ist vierfach am Gehäusedeckel verschraubt.

The "Stanzivia" model features a slightly more compact design with a somewhat longer and thicker prism housing and a screwed-on conical lens tube with a thickened extension compared to its successor. The (screwed-on) front sight can be folded down, and the rear sight is screwed onto the lower cover of the prism housing. loosening the thicker upper screw to re-adjust the position of the rear-sight. The wider base ring of the eyepiece is held by four screws on the cover of the housing.

Der dreifach verschraubte Gehäusedeckel ist mit dem Zeiss-Linsen-Logo sowie einer Seriennummer an der unteren Deckelposition beschriftet. Das Steckokular ist an der schwarz lackierten Augenmuschel seitlich mit "Carl Zeiss Jena" und "Kellner'sches Okular" und der jeweiligen Brennweite, oben auf der Augenmuschel mit der Vergrößerung gekennzeichnet. Das "Stanziava" ist ohne Schutzkappe und Okular 285mm lang, mit herausgedrehter Fokussierungshülse 9mm länger, mit eingestecktem Okular ebenfalls noch einmal 22mm mehr. Die 70mm lange Sonnenblende lässt sich um 38mm herausziehen. Dies ergibt eine maximale Länge von 354mm. Der konische Tubus ist 160mm lang und verbreitert sich von 33 auf 69mm im Durchmesser, wobei der verdickte Tubusansatz 40mm misst. Das 36mm lange Prismengehäuse hat einen Durchmesser von 75mm. Diese Okularhülse ist 38mm, der kreuzgeriffelte (++) Fokussierungsteil 38mm, das Steckokular 25mm und dessen Metallaugenmuschel ca. 39mm im Durchmesser. Der gerade Objektivtubus ist 75mm, die Sonnenblende 78mm im Durchmesser. Der Montageschuh für den Schwalbenschwanz misst 34x68mm. Das Stanziava wiegt 1234g ohne Okular und Schutzkappe. Die 25mm hohe und 81mm breite Schutzkappe wiegt 91g, das (12fach) Okular ca. 50g. Die Ledertragetasche mit Umhängeriemen wiegt 601g.

The triple-screwed housing cover is marked with the Zeiss lens logo and a serial number at the lower position on the cover. The eyepieces are marked on the side of the black-painted metal eyecups with "Carl Zeiss Jena" and "Kellner's eyepiece" along with its respective focal length. The magnification is inscribed on top of the eyecup. The Stanziava is 285mm long without the lens cap and eyepiece, 9mm longer with the focusing sleeve extended, and another 22mm longer with the eyepiece inserted. The 70mm long sunshade can be extended by 38mm, resulting in a maximum length of 354mm. The conical tube is 160mm long and widens from 33mm to 69mm in diameter, with the thickened tube end measuring 40mm. The 36mm long prism housing has a diameter of 75mm. The eyepiece tube is 38mm in diameter, the cross-knurled focusing ring (++ type) is also 38mm, the eyepiece itself is 25mm, and its metal eyecup is approximately 39mm in diameter. The straight objective tube is 75mm in diameter, and the sunshade is 78mm. The dovetail mounting shoe measures 34x68mm. The Stanziava weighs 1234g without the eyepiece and lens cap. The 25mm high and 81mm wide lens cap weighs 91g, and the (12x) eyepiece weighs approximately 50g. The leather carrying case with shoulder strap weighs 601g.
