J.D. Möller Tourixmo 6x22

Das Möller Monokular mit der Bezeichnung "Tourixmo" hat die Werte 6x22 und wie das Tourox(mo) ein Möller-Prisma. Das Gehäuse ist aus Messing mit einer schwarzen Schrumpflack-Lackierung; die Augenmuschel ist aus Bakelit. Beide Seiten haben oder hatten eine Lederummantelung. Die fünffach verschraubte Seitenfläche ist am Okularende mit "Tourix 6x" beschriftet; die andere Seite trägt die Kennzeichnung des Londoner Optikers "J.H. Steward Ltd." und dem Namen des Besitzers "Wilson Potter". Die schmalere Außenfläche ist mit der Seriennummer 13355 sowie "J.D. Moeller", darunter das Firmenemblem, der Ortsname "Wedel" und noch "D.R.P." markiert. Es stammt aus den 20er Jahren des letzten Jahrhunderts. Ein weiteres Exemplar trägt die Inschrift "J. A. Bliss. Bampton House, Bampton Oxom."; die Seriennummer lautet 16162, und die Firmenbezeichnung ist mit "London, New York" erweitert. Ein Trageband ist vorhanden

The Moeller monocular named "Tourixmo" is a 6x22 glass and like the Tourox was build with a Moeller prism. Its housing is made of brass lacquered with a black crinkle paint. The eyecup is made of Bakelite. Both sides have or do not have leather coverings. The side cover fixed with five screws is labeled "Tourix 6x" near the ocular side; the opposite side is marked with "J.H. Steward Ltd.", a London optician, and the owner's name "Wilson Potter". The narrow side is marked with S/N 13355 and "J.D. Moeller". Below that is the Moeller logo, the town name "Wedel" and "D.R.P." (German Reich Patent). The monocular dates from the 20s of last century. Another specimen is marked "J. A. Bliss. Bampton House, Bampton Oxom."; its serial number is 16162, and the maker's name is added with "London, New York". This model has a carrying strap in place.

Das Tourix wiegt 149g. Die Augenmuschel ist 30mm, das ca. 24mm und die Objektivfassung 26mm im Durchmesser. Die Gesamthöhe ist 68-75mm, das Prismengehäuse an den breitesten Stellen 54x48x27mm.
Unter der kleinen Bakelitabdeckung des oberen Gehäuseteils sowie in der Innenseite der Abdeckungsplatte ist eine "74" eingraviert (Geräte-/Teilenummer).
Das passende Lederfutteral ist mit den Besitzerinitialien "W. P." gestempelt.

The Tourix weighs 149g. The eyecup is 30mm, the ocular 24mm,, and the objective frame 26mm in diameter. The overall length is 68-75mm, the prism housing measures 54x48x27mm.
Underneath the small Bakelite cover on top of the housing and inside the side cover the number "74" is engraved (device or part number).
The matching leather case is stamped with the owner's intials "W. P.".

Eine Modellvariante mit der Bezeichnung "Tourixmo x6" auf der Oberseite, wo beim anderen Exemplar die rechteckige Kunststoffplatte sitzt, hat als Gehäuseform statt einer geraden Objektiv-seitigen Fläche eine Art halben Pyramidenstumpf oder eine Dachform. Der Stumpf ist mit der Seriennummer 8105 in englischer Schreibweise der 1 als I gekennzeichnet. Ein weiteres Exemplar hat die Seriennummer 8116. Darüberhinaus ist das nach oben gerichtete Dachfläche des Letzteren mit dem Logo eines Möller-Pentaprsimas und den verscghlungenen Initialen SCP beschriftet. Beide Exemplare mit dieser Bauform stammen aus England, so dass zu vermuten ist, dass diese dort in Lizenz angefertigt wurden, ggf. durch die Fa. J.H. Steward (s.u.) und ggf. erst nach dem Möller 1928 von Zeiss übernommen wurde. Die Objektivlinse hat einen Durchmess von 23mm. Das Modell wieht 142g.

A model variant with its marking "Tioruxmo x6" on it top, in the place where usually the rectangular plastic cover ist, comes with a sorto of a tuncated pyramid half or roof shape isntead of a plane side towards the obejctive side. The trucnated side is marked with the serial number 8105 while using the English I type for the LAtin number 1.. Another specimen has the serial number 8116. Furthermore, the roof side of the latter sloping towards the top is engraved with a logo of a Moeller penta-prism as well as the intervowen intials SCP. Both specimen with this design come from England so that you can assume that they were made under licenece there. The maker then was proabl J.H. Steward (see below) and were probably made only after Moeller was taken over by Zeiss in 1928. The objective lens diameter is 23mm. This model weighs 142g.

Bislang nur aus einem Steward-Katalog aus den 1920er oder 1930er Jahren und nicht als Realstück bekannt ist ein Modell mit getauschter Okular- und Objektivseite. Bei Steward nennt sich das Modell "Compact". Diese Umkehr führt bei den ebenfalls angebotenen Binokularen zu einem erweiterten Objektivabstand (s. Seeger 2015, S. 211ff.).

Until now there is no surviving example but only a 1920s/30s catalogue picture by Steward of a model with exchanged eyepeice and objectiv frame. Steward calls this model "Compact". This exchange leads to an extended objective distance on the also offered binoculars (cf. Seeger 2015, p. 211ff.).
