S.R.P.I. Puteaux 8x24

Dieses 8x24 Porro-2-Monokular hat ein einteiliges Bakelit-Gußgehäuse mit einer Bakelitobjektivfassung. Das Prismensystem kann nach Abschrauben eines Überwurfrings aus Metall mit der oberen Platte aus der runden Gehäusedose entnommen werden. Die Befestigung der Prismen unterscheidet sich von der Weise beim SRPI 10x30 (s. Foto, links 10x30, rechts 8x24). Zudem ist der runde Deckel mit 4 Schrauben am Gewinderand gesichert. Dies könnte aber nachträglich gefertigt worden sein, da der Überwurfring gesprungen ist und seine Klemmfunktion nicht mehr erfüllt. Das Okularstück ist as Metall, während die Augenmuschel wiederum aus Kunststoff ist. Auch hier wurde umgebaut und eine Verlängerungshülse am Okularstück angeschraubt. Ohne diese lässt sich das Monokular auf unendlich scharf stellen, mit dieser in einem Nahbereich von bereits 1,5 m., aber nicht auf unendlich Der Deckel ist mit Triple-Achromat-Logo und darin SRPI Puteaux, unterm Logo mit 8x24 beschriftet. Die Kennzeichnung "PVT" in einem Kreis weist auf die Nutzung beim polnischen Militär hin. Eine rechteckige Trageriemenöse ist oben am Deckel eingegossen. Die Dioptrienskala reicht von +3 bis -7. Der Fokussierungsteil ist kreuz-geriffelt. Die Optik ist unvergütet.

This 8x24 Porro II monocular has a Bakelite housing cast in one piece as well as a Bakelite objective frame. The prism system attached to the top cover plate can be pulled out of the round body box after unscrewing the metal retainer ring. The mounting of the prisms differs from the way done in the SRPI 10x30 (see photo, left 10x30, right 8x24). Moreovere, the round cover is fixed by four screws on the threaded rim. Tbut this may be reworked at a later point of time, because the retainer ring is broken and thus cannot fulfill its original function to hold the cover plate. The eyepiece is made of metal, while the eyecup is made of plastic. Probably here again, the eyepiece has some later fixing by screwing in a extra ocular tube which then allows a close focus of even 1.5 m but no focusing to infinity, whereas without the extra tube the monocular can be focused to inifnity. The cover plate is marked with the triple achromat lens logo and in it "SRPI Puteaux"; below the logo it is isncribed with "8x24". The further marking "PVT" within a circle denotes the use by the Polish army. A rectangular strap lug is cast in on top of the cover plate. The dioptre scale ranges from +3 bis -7. The focusing ring is knurled cross-wise. The optics are uncoated.

Das Monokular ist 160 - 170 mm (mit extra Okularhülse 172-182mm) lang, das Prismegehäuse 40mm lang und 58mm im Durchmesser. Der Objektivtubus verbreitert sich von 33mm auf 42mm, der Okulartubus ist 22mm, der Fokussierungsring 30mm und die Augenmuschel 33,5mm im Durchmesser. Das 8x24 wiegt 255g.

The monocular is 160 - 170 mm (with its extra ocular tube 172-182 mm) long, the prism housing is 40mm long and 58mm in diameter. The objective tube increase from 33mm to 42mm, the eyepiece is 22 mm, the focusing ring 30 mm, and the eyecup is 33.5 mm in diameter. The 8x24 weighs 255g.
