M49 Telescope Observation 20x60

Das 20x60 Prismen-Spektiv in robuster Metallausführung liegt ohne Bezeichnung mit silberener Hammerschlaglackierung als auch in olivgrüner Lackierung als US-Militärteleskop "M49" vor. Das Design wurde in den USA in 1940 patentiert bei John R. Miles (International Industries Inc. Michigan).
Das 20x60 Spektiv wiegt 1391g in der grau-silbrig lackierte Ausführung und 913g als M49 jeweils mit Schutzdeckel für das Objektiv und Schutzkappe für das Okular. Es ist 34,5 - 36cm lang und hat einen 64mm Durchmesser am Objektivtubus. Das Prismengehäuse ist 68x67mm oben und verbreitert sich bis auf 79mm. Das Okularstück ist 36mm, der Fokussierungsteil 40mm und an der Metallaugenmuschel 33mm im Durchmesser. ie optik ist vergütet, der Vergrößerungsfaktor is an der gerillten Endfläche des Okular eingeprägt.
The 20x60 prism spottimg scope comes in a very sturdy metal design. There is a silvery hammer finish painted model with mo markings and the US military version "M49" with an olive-green lacquer. The design was patented in 1940 in the USA for John R. Miles (International Industries Inc. Michigan).
The 20x60 silvery spotter weighs 1391g, the M49 weighs 913g, each with two protection caps for the objectie and eyepiece. The scope measures 34.5cm to 36cm and has 64mm diameter of the objective tube. The prism housing is 68x67mm at the top and increases to 79mm. The eyepiece is 36mm, the foocusing piece 40mm, and the metal eyecup 33mm in diameter. The optics are coated. The magnification data is stamped into the knurled eyepiece end.

Für das M49 gab es auch einen zylidnrischen Trasnportköcher aus Metall. Ein weiteres Modell wurde 1991 von United Scientific Instruments Ltd. gebautmit leicht verändertem Objektivende und Gummiaugenmuschel. The pictures below show the M49 spotter on its regular clamp tripod, amd also show four different labels. The military M49 model was named "Telescope Observation" / OBS. The M49 also came with a cylindrical metal carrying case. Another model dates from 1191, and was made by United Scientifc Instruments Ltd. coming with a slight variation on the objective end and a rubber eyecup.


Die Katalogeseite zeigt eine zivile Nachkriegsvariante "Argus" aus den 1940/50er Jahren. Ein gleiches 20x60 Modell gab es auch bei ROSS London (vgl. a. Greenkat 22x60). The catalogue page depicts a civilian variant "Argus" from the 1940s/50s. One 20x60 model was also distributed or made by ROSS London (also cf. Greenkat 22x60).
