Goerz Visier für den RK M5Dieses 268 Gramm schwere Monokular ist Teil eines Batterierichtkrieses M5 von Goerz wie er beim deutschen Heer und dem K.u.K. Armee genutzt wurde (s. Zeichnung in Goerz 1911er Festschrift S. 55., sowie Foto unten). Das Peilvisier hat unter dem vorstehenden Korpusteil ein Abbe-König Prisma und hat daher eine gerade Gehäuseform (s. Hensoldt Dialyt Zielfernorhr; s. auch Bild unten Goerz "Pernox ZF"). Dies ist nur durch den aufgeschraubten Deckel und einer kleinen Metallrolle, die in die Nut des Prismenteils greift, befestigt. Im Bild lässt sich sehen, dass die beiden Prismenteile ohne Probleme herausnehmbar sind. Es hat eine Strichplatte mit Fadenklreuz und Teilstrichen bis 5 sowie ein Beleuchtungsfenster dafür. Die Augenmuschel ist aus Bakelit und das Okular hat einen Dioptrienausgleich, dessen Beschriftungszahlen (5, 0, 5) vertikal angebracht sind, d.h. sie sind beim Anvisieren seitlich lesbar.Die Gravur "E. Silver, St. Andrews Dr. Glasgow" auf einer Gehäuseseite kann ich nicht einem Vertreiber oder Besitzer zuordnen. |
Goerz Sight for the aiming circle M5This 256 gram monocular was part of a battery aiming circle M5 by Goerz like it was used by the German or the Austrio-Hungarian Army (see the drawing of a battery sight in Goerz 1911 Anniversary booklet, p 55., and photo below). The sight houses an Abbe-Koenig prism system under the protruding body part, thus having a straight body (cf. Hensoldt Dialyt Gun-Sight; also cf. picture below of a Goerz "Pernox ZF"). The prism parts are just held by the screwed on oval cover plate and a small metal tube, which fits into a groove at one prism part. You can see in the picture that both prism parts can be taken out easily. The sight is equipped with a reticle with cross-hairs and division lines up to 5, as well as a lighting window. The eyecup is made o Bakelite and the eyepiece has a dioptre adjustment. The digits of the dioptre scale are inscribed vertically, i.e. you can read them upright when holding the sight to your eyes.I cannot find any distributor or owner for the "E. Silver, St. Andrews Dr. Glasgow" address marked on one side of the tube. |
