Goerz Triëder Monocle 9x

Dieses 9x Monokular mit der Bezeichnung "Triëder Monocle" (Triëder No. 30) wurde ca. 1907 hergestellt. Die Seriennummer lautet 138478. Der obere Deckel ist außerdem mit "C.P. Goerz Berlin" und den verwobenen Initialien C.P.G., gestempelt (s. kleines Bild). Weitere vorliegende Modelle haben die Seriennummern 138885 und 139743. Das Gehäuse ist herzförmig, das rechtseitige Okular zweiteilig, bestehend aus einer Augenmuschel und einem Messingdrehteil. (vgl. früheres Goerz 9x20

This 9x monocular with model name "Triëder Monocle" (Triëder No. 30) was made in c. 1907. The serial number is 138478. The top body cover is also marked "C.P. Goerz Berlin", and the interwoven initials C.P.G. (s. small photo). Other specimen in my posession have got the serial numbers 138885 and 139743. The body is heart shaped, the right-hand sided ocular consists of two parts: the eye-cup and the turning focussing part made of brass. (cf. earlier Goerz 9x20

  

Das Monokular hat einen Lederköcher, der mit den "Pfeilspitzen" und einer "1" gekennzeichnet und somit als britisches Militärglas deklariert wurde. Die Pfeilspitzen und eine römische 1 befinden sich ebenfalls auf dem unteren Gehäusedeckel (Mark/Number 1 oder I). Dort sind die Initialien J.D.M. eingestempelt.

The monocular has its original leather case, which is stamped with arrow heads and a "1" – hence being used in the British Army at some time. The arrows and the Roman number 1 are also on the bottom body cover (mark/number 1 or I). The initials J.D.M are inscribed there, too.

  

Das Triëder Monocle aus Messing mit schwarzer Lackierung und Lederummantelung hat eine Objektivdurchmesser von 20mm und ein Blickfeld von ca. 4,4°, wiegt 233g und ist 11x4,5x4,5cm groß. Der Ledertrageriemen ist an einer aufgeschraubten Öse angebracht. Am unteren Prismengehäuse befindet sich eine weitere feste Halterung (s. 6. Foto). Das Okularstück hat einen Dioptrienausgleich von ca. plus/minus 5 mit klomplett umlaufender Skala. Die Augenmuschel ist aus Holz.

The Triëder Monocle is made of brass painted black and has a leather covering. Its objective diameter is 20mm, the f.o.v. about 4.4.°. Weighing 233 g, the glass is 11x4,5x4,5cm. The leather strap is fastened to a lug screwed to the body. There is another lug casted into the body at the opposite end (s. 6. photo). The eyepiece has a dioptre adjustment of plus/minus 5, the scale running all the way around the ocular tube. The eye-cup is made of wood.
