Dollond x8 (8x20)

Dies ist ein 8x20 Prismenmonokular von "Dollond" aus dem 1. Viertel des 20. Jahrhunderts. Es hat ein lederummanteltes gerades Prismengehäuse mit herzförmiger Deckeln. Die schwarz lackierten Aludeckel sind 4fach verschraubt. Am linksseitigen Okular gibt es einen umlaufenden Dioptrienring mit Skalenbezeichnung bis +/-5. Die Augenmsuchel ist nicht original, aber wohl, wie die angebrachte, aus Hartgummi oder Bakelit gewesen. Eine lange Trageriemenöse ist angeschraubt. Der obere Deckel ist mit "DOLLOND LONDON x8 MONOCULAR" beschriftet. (vgl. Dollond x6)
Der Originalköcher ist erhalten und im innen am Deckel mit einer Krone - links davon "Estd.", rechts unleserliche Jahreszahl - und "Dollond London 35 Ludgate Hill, 66 Old Broad [St.], [5] Northumberland Av., 223 ?? Works, II. Kip??" (?? undeutlich) beschriftet.
This is a 8x20 porro prism monocular by "Dollond" fromt he 1st quarter of the 20th century. It ahs a leather covered straight housing with heart shaped cover plates. The black paitned aluminium covers have four screws. There is a dioptre ring with markings from + to - 5 on the left-hand sided eyepiece. The eyecup is not original any more, but must ahve been like this one amde of Bakelite or ebonite. A long strap lug is screwed onto the body. The top cover plate is marked "DOLLOND LONDON x8 MONOCULAR". (cf. Dollond x6)
The original case survived. The lid is marked inside with a crown - left of it "Estd.", right of it an unreadable year data. It is alos inscribed "Dollond London 35 Ludgate Hill, 66 Old Broad [St.], [5] Northumberland Av., 223 ?? Works, II. Kip??" (?? unclear).

Das 8x20 ist 100-105mm lang, das Gehäuse 45x45mm breit und wiegt 166g. Das Okularstück ist 18,5mm, der Fokussierungsring 22mm und die Augenmuschel 29,5mm im Durchmesser.
