C.W. Dixey & Son 6x24

Die gleiche Bauweise und Maße wie das "Stereo Prism 6x24" hat das 6x24 Monokular. Es wurde vom Londoner Optikhaus "C.W. Dixey & Son - 3 New Bond Street" vetrieben (s. oberer Deckel) und vom Militär gebraucht, was der 'Broad arrow' am untern Deckel beweist. Am oberen Deckel ist auch "TK 1204" und "N" eingraviert, wobei Letzteres auch der Anfang der "NPL"-Prüfsignatur (National Physical Laboratories) sein könnte. Die dreifach verschraubten Messingdeckel sind schwarz lackiert, das Gehäuse hat eine schwarze Hartgummiummantelung und auch Okular und Objektiv scheinen zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt dick schwarz überlackiert worden zu sein. Das Glas stammt aus der Zeit vor dem 2. Weltkrieg. Es wiegt 261g.

This 6x24 Monocular has the same construction and dimensions as the "Stereo Prism 6x24". It was distributed by the London optician "C.W. Dixey & Son - 3 New Bond Street" (s. upper cover plate) and used by the army, which is proved by the 'broad arrow' at the lower cover plate. The top cover also is marked "TK 1204" and "N". The N could be the beginning of the "NPL"-signatiure (National Physical Laboratories) . The brass covers have three screws and are painted black. So are the oculare and objective. Here it looks like they were overpainted at another time. The housing has a black hard rubber covering. The glass dates from pre-WWII times. Its weight is 261g.
