Carl Zeiss Wien 6FACH

Dieses 6FACH Monokular unterscheidet sich nicht nur von dem Herstellungsort, nämlich Carl Zeiss Wien, von dem CZ 6fach aus Jena, sondern hat einen größere 22mm Objektivlinse und auch eine eingegossene Trageriemenöse. Zudem ist der Objektivstutzen zweiteilig. Es ist eines der ersten neuen Telex-Modelle ab 1907 (Monokular = Simplex), die zunächst - evtl. nur einige Monate lang - eine Deckelrandnummer hatten (s. Seeger, 2010, S. 407 u. 409) ; dabei ist dieses Exemplar am unteren Deckelrand (sozusagen kopfüber aus Richtung des Okulars) gestempelt. Mit der Nummer 6651 gehört es womöglich zu einem eigenen Wien-Nummernkreis (vgl. Seeger, 2010, 399ff. + 476ff.). Im weiteren weist es übliche Merkmale der Porro-1-Modelle auf; hier: 3 Deckelschrauben, + Riffelung des Fokussierungsrings und eine umlaufende Dioptrienskala, die bei Null und +/-5 gekennzeichnet ist. Die Augenmuschel ist aus Kunststoff.

This 6FACH (6 power) monocular differs from CZ 6fach from Jena not only because of its production place, which is CZ Vienna, but moreover has a larger 22mm objective lens and a cast-in strap-lug. Furthermore the objective tube has two parts. It is one of the early new Telex models starting in 1907 (monocular = Simplex), which firstly - maybe only for a few months - came with a serial number on the rim (s. Seeger, 2010, p. 407 u. 409); this specimen was stamped on the lower cover rim (so to speak upside down, readable when looking from the eyepiece side). Having number 6651 it probably belongs to a own number circle from Vienna (cf. Seeger, 2010, 399ff. + 476ff.). Other features are as usual for Porro I models; here we have 3 cover plate screws, a + knurling of the focusing part, and a full dioptre scale being marked at zero and +/- five. The eyecup is made of a type of hard rubber.

Das 6fach ist 109-118mm lang, der Objektivstutzen 31mm und das Okular 20,5mm im Durchmesser. Der Fokussierungsring ist 23,5mm und die Augenmuschel 34mm im Durchmesser. Das Gehäuse ist oben 41x41mm und unten 44x45mm dick. Es wiegt 169g.
