Das 1. Modell des 8x30 Monokulars von Zeiss Oberkochen hat eine Dioptrienskala von +15 (!) bis -5. Die Trageriemenöse am mit strukturiertem Hartgummi überzogenem Gehäuse ist ein kleine Ring. Das 8x30 hat ein Weitwinkelokular, das ein Sehfeld von 150m/1000m erreicht. Die späteren 8x30B-Modelle (1. Version und 2. Version) liegen darunter. Der Schärfebereich beginnt bei 3m. Das vorliegende Exemplar hat die Seriennummer 497419 (ein anderes 497228), der vorhande Köcher ist mit dem "Carl Zeiss" Logo am Deckel und "Made in Germany" am Boden im Leder geprägt.
