Carl Zeiss 2,5x16

Dieses Carl Zeiss Zielvisier für Feldgeschütze entspricht dem Goerz 2,5x16<. Es weist also fast identishce Merkmale auf: 2,5fache Vergrößerung, 16mm Objektiv, schwarz lackiertes Messinggehäuse und -deckel, Okularstück mit Fixfokus (etwas dünner als beim Goerz) sowie Strichplatte mit vertikalem Strich und zwei diagonalen Linien sowie ein Schwalbenschwanz-Montagefuß mit Federhebel (mit "CZ" graviert). Der Fuß ist mit "307B" und "Carl Zeiss Jena 1629" graviert. Es hat ein Porro-1-Prismensystem (s. Foto).

This Carl Zeiss sight for field artillery guns is the same as Goerz 2.5x16<. So, its characteristics are almost the same: 2.5 power, 16mm objective lens, black painted brass body and covers, a fix-focus eyepiece . It has a fix focus eyepiece (a little bit thinenr than the Goerz type), a reticle with a vertical linse and two diagonal lines as well as a mounting foot with a spring lock (engraved "CZ"). The mounting foot is marked "307B" and "Carl Zeiss Jena 1629". It has a Porro I prism system (cf. photo).

Das Okularstück ist 18mm im Durchmesser. Das Prismengehäuse misst 37x47mm. Die Gesamtlänge ist 61mm (fehlende Metall-Augenmuschel !), die Gesamthöhe (Befestigungsfuß bis Gehäusewand) ist 55mm. Die Montageplatte ist 41x41mm groß. Die Objektivfassung ist 21mm im Durchmesser. Die Objektivlinse 13mm nach innen versetzt (beim Goerz nur ca. 6mm). Das Glas wiegt 233g.

The eyepiece is 18mm in diameter. The prism housing is 37x47mm wide. Overall length is 61mm (metal eyecup is missing!), overall height from mounting plate to the housing wall is 55mm. The mounting foot is 41x41mm. The objective frame is 21mm in diameter. The objective lens is retracted by 13mm (whereas it is retracted by only 6mm on the Goerz model). The glass weighs 233g.
