Barr & Stroud CF42

Der Modelltyp CF42 war eine Variante des CF41 Porro-2-Modells von Barr & Stroud und hat die gleiche Kenngröße (7x50) sowie zwei Trockengeräte-Ventile und eine mittels unten am Gehäuse befindlichen Hebel drehbare Filterscheibe unten im Gehäuse. Zusätzlich gab es im rechten Okular eine Strichplatte. Hier liegt jedoch der linke Teil eines Fernglases vor, also ohne Strichplatte. In der strukturierten Lackierung des Objektivtubuses befindet sich die große Gravur des "broad arrow" als Militärzeichen; gelbliche Farbreste sind darin noch erkennbar. Die Deckelbeschriftung wirkt auch weiß-gelblich und ist erhaben. Zwischen den mit B und C gekennzeichneten Trockenluftventilen steht "Britsh Patent Apllication N: 4440/1940". Die Diotprienskala ist am unteren Fokussierungsringrand und verläuft von Null bis Sieben nur in eine Richtung.

The model type CF42 was a variant of the CF41 Porro 2 model by Barr & Stroud. It had the same specifications (7x50), two desiccation vents and a lever to change filter glasses inside the lower end of the housing. But additionally there was a graticule inside the right ocular; the monocular here is the left barrel of the binocular, though. The textured covering of the tube was engraved with British military sign, a big "broad arrow" still showing some traces of yellow colour. The embossed cover markings are also yellowish-white. Between the two vents it says "British Patent Application N: 4440/1940". The dioptre scale which is positioned at the slanting rim of the focusing part is inscribed from zero to seven in just one direction.

Das CF42-Monokular wiegt 700g mit Trageriemen. Es ist 234-244mm lang, wobei die Bakelit-Prismendose 45mm und der konische Tubus 152mm hoch sind. Der Tubus beginnt bei einem 34mm Durchmesser und endet bei der Bakelit-Objektivfassung mit 70mm. Das Prismengehäuse misst 60mm, das Filtergehäuse 71mm im Durchmesser. Das Okularstück hat einen 29mm, der Fokussierungsteil einen 42mm und die Bakelitaugenmuschel einen 36mm Durchmesser.

The CF42 Monocular weighs 700g with its strap lug. It is 234-244mm in length, the Bakelite prism box is 45mm and the conical tube is 152mm in length. The tube diameter starts at 34mm and ends at the Bakelite objective frame at 70mm. The prism housing measures 60mm, the filter housing 71mm in diameter. The eyepiece has 29mm, the focusing part a 42mm and the Bakelite eyecup a 36mm diameter.
