| Das Argus 20x55 ist mit einem etwas kleinerem Objektivdurchmesser die zivile Nachkriegsvariante des M49 Spektivs und folgt dessen Design. In einer Anzeige wird es für Sportschützen als Kontrollfernrohr angepriesen (s.u.). Das Gehäuse und der Tubus sind schwarz lackiert, wobei an beiden Enden des Objektivtubuses jeweils ein Ring frei gefräst wurde und somit das Metall silbern hervor scheint als Zierelement. Am Okularende ist die Vergrößerung eingestempelt. Am Prismengehäuse ist die Seriennummer "24379" und gegenüber "Super Grade" graviert, darüber hinaus ist ein Modellschild mit "argus Made in USA" in einem Logo angenietet. | The Argus 20x55 is with a slightly smaller aperture the civilian post-war model variant of the M49 spotter and follows the same design. An advertisement shows that it was mainly recommended for sports shooters as a control telescope (see below). The housing and the tube are painted black, whereas two rings at both ends have been milled down to the silvery metal so that this make up two decoration rings. The power is stamped into the eyepiece end. The prism housing is inscribed with the serial number "24379" and opposite to it with "Super Grade". Furthermore, there is a small plate riveted to the housing being marked with "argus Made in USA" within a logo. |
