Aitchison 20x36

Ebenfalls mit Irisblende ist die 20fach Version vom Aitchison-Monokular versehen. Auch hier ist die Objektivlinse nur 36mm im Durchmesser. Der obere Deckel ist aus dunkelbraunem Bakelit und mit "x20 PROTECTED BY AITCHISON'S PATENTS" beschriftet. Die Unterseite des Aluminiumgehäuses trägt die Nummer "329". Das Okular hat eine Drehfokussierung. Die Augenmuschel ist nicht mehr vorhanden, es passt aber die 3/3-Augenmuschel des 10x16 Monokulars (s. Bilder). Auch im weiteren entspricht die Konstruktion den anderen Monokularen mit Irisblende; vgl. Aitchison 9x36.

The 20x model by Aitchison also has an iris diaphragm. Again the objective lens is 36mm in diameter. The top cover plate is made of dark brown Bakelite and inscribed "x20 PROTECTED BY AITCHISON'S PATENTS". The bottom of the aluminium housing is marked number 329. The ocular focuses by turning it. The eyecup is gone, but the 3/3 eyecup of the 10x16 Monocular fits well (s. pics). Furthermore, all basic construction specifications match the other monoculars with iris diaphragm, for instance the Aitchison 9x36.

So ist das Okularstück 19mm breit und 35mm lang, die kurzen Seiten des 49mm hohen Prismengehäuses 44mm, die längere 51mm lang, und auch die Grundplattenseiten messen 46mm, 49mm und 53mm; der konische Tubus verbreitert sich von 32mm auf 49mm und ist 43mm lang. Hingegen ist beim 379g schweren 20x Modell der gerade Objektivtubus 110mm lang bei einem ebenfalls 49mm Durchmesser. Die Gesamtlänge ist 23cm bis 24cm lang.

So, the eyepiece is 19mm in diameter and 35mm long. The short sides of the 49mm long housing are 44mm, the long one is 51mm. Also the bottom plate measures 46x49x53mm. The conical tube increases from 32 to 49mm in diameter, being 43mm long, whereas the straight objective tube of the 20x model is 110mm long. Its diameter again is 49mm. Overall length is 23 to 24cm, and weight is 379g.
