Minox Taschenfernglas T8

In den 90er Jahre des 20. Jh. wurde das sogenannte Taschenteleskop T8 von Minox hergestellt. Es gibt eine Version mit schwarzem/anthrazit Kunststoffgehäuse (s.a. ) und ein "T8L" mit Aluminiumgehäuse (s.a. ). Die Beschriftungen der zwei abgebildeten T8 variieren in Anordnung und Farbe.

Until the 90s of last century the so-called "Taschenteleskop T8" was produced by Minox. There is a black version with a plastic body (s.a. ) and a silvery "T8L" version with a aluminium body (s.a. ). The inscripts on the two T8s vary in matter of colour and lay-out.

Es gab zu dem Monokular auch ein Etui. Das Monokular selbst ist flach und passt gut in einen Handteller (ca. 10 x 5 x 1,5 cm) und somit auch leicht in eine Mantel- oder Hemden-Brusttasche.

Die "Bedienung" des T8 unterscheidet sich von anderen Monokularen.
An einem kleinen Kipphebel wird die Schutzabdeckung der Okular- und Objektivlinsen zurückgeklappt – ähnlich einem Fotoapparat. Auf der Okular-Seite visiert man zunächst mit einem Sucher das Objekt an (es befindet sich in einm weißem Ring),

... dann rutscht man mit dem schauenden Auge ein kleines Stück nach unten, um durch das vergrößernde Objektiv das anvisierte Objekt in 8facher Vergrößerung zu sehen.
 
Ein Dioptrienausgleich findet durch ein kleines Stellrädchen statt.

Diese Funktionsweise des optischen Gangs im T8 ist auch bei dem Röntgenfoto nur zu ahnen: wahrscheinlich wird der Strahlengang durch Umlenkprismen durch das Gehäuse geleitet. Die Fokussierung scheint durch einen Riemenzug zu geschehen.

The monocular came with a soft bag and/or case. The monocular itself is very shallow and fits into the palm of a hand (ca. 10 x 5 x 1,5 cm) as well as into a coat pocket etc.

Handling the T8 differs from other monoculars.
With a help of a tiny lever you can open the dust covers of the lenses – similar to a camera system. Looking though the ocular you initially aim at an object with a sort of view finder, a white ring within the ocular (photo 1 -> photo two), then you move your eye a little bit lower to see the wanted object magnified by 8 times through the tele-objective.
You can also adjust dioptres with a small wheel at the edge of the body.

How the light beams move through the T('s optical path can only be guessed in the X-ray image: probably they are directed with prisms/mirrors through the body. Focussing seems to work with a belt.
