SOMZ 7x35

In einer Pappschachtel wird das "LP-1" (Abkürzung für die Bezeichnung: "Naturliebhaber") von der Russischen Firma "Salawat Optisch-Mechanische Werke" (Salavatsky Optiko-Mekhanichesky Zavod = SOMZ) geliefert. Deren optischen Produkte wurden oft als "Berkut" Modelle vertrieben. Das ganze optische Set (russ. Bezeichnung) umfasst einen Plastikkasten, der einen oben in den Deckel schraubbaren Stativstab, eine Nahlinse (Beschriftung "Telelupa 7x"), eine Nahlinse an einem Trägerarm (Beschriftung: Mikroskop 13,4x) sowie das 7x35 Prismenmonokular (MP mit Nr. 00002607) mit 2 Kappen für die Linsen beinhaltet. Die Optiken sind vergütet. Das Set stammt aus den 1980er Jahren.

The "LP-!" (abbeviation of "Nature Lover") by the Russian company "Salavat Optical Mechanical Works" (Salavatsky Optiko-Mekhanichesky Zavod = SOMZ) is supplied in a cardboard box. Their products ere often sold under the Berkut brand. The complete "optical set" (Russian term) comprises a plastic box with a mounting rod, a close-up lens (marked "Telelupa 7x"), a eine close-up lens on a holder beam (marked: Microscope 13.4x) as well as a 7x35 prism monocular (MP with number 00002607) with two lens protection caps. The munting rod screws into a thread on the top of the box's lid. The optical glass is coated. The set dates from the 1980s.

Das 7x35 Monokular entspricht in seiner Bauweise dem "Berkut 10x50" mit einer eingeschraubten Trageriemenöse und einer flachen Gehäuseseite. Es hat eine Weichgummiaugenmuschel, eine Hartgummiummantelung und Kunststoffdeckeln sowie -objektivfassung. Die Seriennummer ist in grünen Ziffern an der Objektivfassung gekennzeichnet. Der obere Gehäusedeckel ist mit dem SOMZ-Logo eines Porro-1-Prismensystems (2 Prismen im 90° Winkel zueinander), mit "Sehfeld 150m auf 1000m" und dem Modellbezeichnung markiert. Das rechtsseitige Okular hat eine Dioptrienskala von +/-5 und eine Refernzstrich am Okulartubus.

The 7x35 is designed like the "Berkut 10x50" with a screwed-on strap lug and a flat body part. There is a soft rubber eyecup. The hosuing is covered with some ebonite and plstic cover paltes as well as a plastic objective frame. The serial number is inscribed on the oibjective frame in green digits. The top cover plate is marked with the SOMZ logo - two prisms postiioned in a right angle to each other, hence a porro 1 system - also marked "field of view 150m at 1000m" as well a the model name. The right-hand sided eyepiece has a dioptre scale ranging from plus to minus five. There is also a reference line on the ocualr tube.

Das 7x35 ist 130-135mm lang. Es wiegt 311g. Das Gehäuse ist oben 72x52mm und unten 76x52mm breit, der 31mm lange Objektivtubus ist 50mm im Durchmesser. Das Okularstück ist 31mm, der Fokussierungsring und die Augenmuschel 37mm im Durchmesser. Die gerade rechteckige Gehäuseseite misst 47x32mm.

The 7x35 is 130-135mm long. It weighs 311g. The housing measures 72x52mm at its top and 76x52mm at its bottom. The 31mm long obejctive tube is 50mm in diameter. The eyepiece is 31mm, the focusing ring and the eyecup 37mm in diameter. The flat rectangular body part is 47x32mm.

Mit der "Telupa" Vorsatzlisne lässt sich bei gleichbleibender Vergrößerung 7x ab 1,20m fokussieren. Mit dem "Mikroskop"-Vorsatz erreicht man eine fast doppelte Vergrößerung von 13,4x in ca. 8cm Abstand. Dafür wird der Plastik-Trägerarm mit der Mikroskoplupe an dem Haltestab gesteckt und mittels eines Hebels in passender Höhe festgeklemmt. Das Monokular kann dann in die Trägerarmfassung gesteckt werden. Der Haltestab wird in den Deckel des geschlossenen Plastikkastens geschraubt, dessen Gewinde ansonsten für eine Schraube zum Verschließen des Kastens vorgesehen ist. Im Deckel des Kastens ist eine weiße Scheibe eingelassen, die als kontrastreicher Mikroskopiefläche dient.

The "Telupa" slip-on lens allows focusing down to 1.2 metres keeping the 7x mangification. You can have almost the doubled magnification (13.4x) when using the microscope add-on lens demanding an 8cm distance. For this use the plastic mounting beam with the microscope lens is slid over the mounting rod, and can be tightend with a lever at a focusing position. The monocular be slipped into the lens frame of the beam. The mounting rod must be screwed into the lid of the closed box; the thread is used for a screw to secure the box when the parts are stored in the box. There is a white disc built into the box's lid serving as a high contrast microscopying plane.

Die 23g schwere Telupa-Linsenfassung ist 55mm, die Linse selbst 38mm im Durchmesser. Der Trägerarm mit der Mikroskoplinse wiegt 67 g und ist 118mm lang. Die Linsenfassung ist 57mm, die Linse 36mm im Durchmesser. Der 21cm lange Haltestab wiegt 73g. Der 385g schwere Trasnportkasten mit Verschlusschraube misst 23x16x4cm bzw. 6,5cm an der anderen Seite. Im Gesatmaufbau als Mikroskop ist das Instrument ca. 31cm hoch.

The 23g Telupa lens frame is 55mm, the lens itself 38mm in diameter. The beam with the microscope lens weighs 67g and is 118mm long. The lens frame ist 57mm, the lens 36mm in diameter. The 21cm long mounting rod weighs 73g. The 385g storing case with securing screw measures 23x16x4cm or 6,5cm at the opposite side. The whole set-up as a microscope is about 31cm tall.
