Avimo Visier-Monokular 7x42 mit Fixfokus

Dieses Fixfokus-Monokular mit Strichplatte (Einteilung: 1 Strich = 10 mils) diente in den 80er Jahren der amerikanischen Artillerie/Infanterie zur Zielbestimmung.
Es hat eine vergütete Optik mit den Werten 7x42. Das schwarz lackierte Gehäuse beinhaltet ein Porro I-System. Das zweiteilige Gehäuse ist 6fach von der Objektivseite und 1fach von der Okularseite her verschraubt; zwischen den Teilen befindet sich ein Dichtungsgummi. Die rote Schraube könnte zur Trockenlegung bzw. zur Füllung mit Stickstoff gegen Beschlagen der Gläser dienen. Am Gehäsue befindet sich auch eine Halterung für den grünen Kunststoff Handriemen sowie eine weitere Rundkopfschraube.

This fixed focus monocular has got a reticule (division: 1 mark = 10mils) and was used by the US/Canadian artillery/infantry for target identification.
It has coated optics and a 7x43 specification. The black painted housing contains a porro I prism system. The two part housing is screwed together with 6 screws from the top and 1 screw from the bottom; a rubber ring serves for sealing. The red screw may be an opening for drying or filling with nitrogen against mist. There also is a lug for the green plastic hand strap as well as another round headed screw.

Die 22mm Okularlinse hat eine 6mm Austrittspupille und ist mit einer Zieharmonika-artigen Augenmuschel aus Weichgummi bestückt. Diese ist mit einem Metallring an das Okular geklemmt.
Das Monokular wiegt 477g, ist 15cm lang und 6x7,2cm breit. Das Objektiv hat einen Durchmesser von 52mm.
Das Avimo 7x42 gibt es auch mit Gummiarmierung (inwieweit das abgebildete Exemplar ein Originalmonokular oder eine geteiltes Ferngals ist ist unbekannt).

The 22mm ocular lens has a 6mm exit pupil. It is fitted with a bellows-shaped soft rubber eye-cup. The eye-cup ist clamped to the ocular with a metal ring.
The monocular weighs 477g, it is 15cm in length and 6x7.2cm in width. The objective frame diameter is 52mm.
The Avimo 7x42 also comes with rubber armouring. Whether the depicted one is a genuine monocular or a halved binocular is not certain.
