Schuetz & Co. "Uranos" 6x47

Das "Uranos" Porro-2-Modell 6x47 wurde von Carl Schütz & Co., Optische Weken A.G. Cassel gefertigt. Es ist ohne Vergütung und aufgrund der Schreibweise der Stadt noch mit "C", muss also vor 1926 - aufgrund der Bezeichnung mit nur "6x" evtl vor bzw. im 1. Weltkrieg - hergestellt worden sein. Die Aludeckel sind schwarz lackiert und ohne Verschraubungen. Der konische Objektivtubus hat eine Arretierungsschraube, welche gelöst werden muss, um ihn abzuschrauben um den unteren Deckel entfernen zu können, um wiederum den Prismenstuhl herausnehemn zu können. Das Gehäuse mit nierenförmiger Grundfläche hat eine eingegossene Trageriemenöse und ist dunkelbraun beledert - so auch der Objektivtubus. Das rechtsseitige Okular hat eine braune Kunststoffaugenmuschel (hier nicht mehr original) und eine komplett umlaufende Dioprienskala mit Beschriftung bei Null und Fünf.

Here we have a "Uranos" Porro 2 monocular by Carl Schütz & Co., Optische Werke A.G. Cassel. It is uncoated and as the town name is still written with a "C" means that it was made before 1926, probably before or during WWI due to marking only the power without objective diameter. The aluminium covers are painted black. The top cover has three screws, whereas the bottom cover is only held by the objective tube screwed onto the housing. When unscrewing the objective tube and taking off the cover plate you can unscrew the base plate and prism chair and take them out. There is a cast-in strap lug at the housing. The latter and the objective tube are covered with dark brown leather. The right-hand sided eyepeice has got a brown plastic eyecup (not original) and a full dioptre scale with markings at zero and five.

Das "Uranos" wiegt 383g. Es ist 186-196mm lang. Das Prismengehäuse misst oben 51x43mm und unten 56x44mm. Der konische Tubus verbreitert sich von 40mm auf 55mm im Durchmesser. Das Okular ist 25mm, der Fokussierungsteil 29mm und die Augenmuschel 33mm im Durchmesser.

The "Uranos" weighs 383g. It is 186-196mm long. The prism housing measures 51x43mm at its top and 56x44mm at its bottom. The conical tube increases from 40mm to 55mm in diameter. The eyepiece is 25mm, the focusing part 29mm, and the eyecup 33mm in diameter.
