H. Salanson & Co Ltd. 8x25
| Dieses 8x25 Porro 1 Monokular wurde von "H. Salanson & Co Ltd." in Bristol (und Cardiff) vertrieben. Es sieht sehr nach einem französischem Fabrikat aus. Es hat eine 3/3 Augenmuschel aus Bakelit mit einer Dioptrieskala von - bis + 8. Wird diese abgeschruabt, lässt sich das Okularlinsensystem herausnehmen. Am Ansatz des Okularstücks befindet sich ein breiterer Ring. Das Gehäuse ist mit strukturierten Hartgummi ummantelt und hat eine angeschraubte Trageriemenöse. Die Aluminiumteile sind schwarz lackiert. die Deckel sind einfach verschraubt, der obere mit "Supplied by H. SALANSON 6 CO. LTD. BRISTOL 6 CARDIFF", der untere mit "8x25" beschriftet. Die Optik ist unvergütet. Das Monokular wurde wahrscheinlich zwishcen den Weltkriegen hergestellt. | This 8x25 porro 1 monocular was distributed by "H. Salanson & Co Ltd." in Bristol (and Cardiff). It looks much like a french product. It has a 3/§ eyecup with a dioptre range from plus to minus 8. When yo uunscrew the eyecup yo ucan take out the ocular lens system. At the set-off of the ocular is a wider ring. The housing is covered with textured hard rubber and has a screwed on strap lug. The aluminium parts are lacquered black, the cover plates have one screw only. The top cover is marked "Supplied by H. SALANSON 6 CO. LTD. BRISTOL 6 CARDIFF", the bottom cover is marked "8x25". Optics are uncoate. The glass was probably made between the World Wars. |

Die 19mm lange Objektivfassung ist 34mm im Durchmesser, der Ansatzring des Okulars 26mm, die Okularhülse 22mm, der Fokussierungsteil 33mm und die Augenmuschel außen 31mm im Durchmesser. Das Glas wiegt 216g.

The 8x25 monocular is 105-110mm long, the housing measures 44x44mm at its top and 54x54mm at tis bottom. The 19mm tall objective frame is 34mm in diameter. The set-off ring of the ocular is 26mm, the ocular tube 22mm, and the focusing part 33mm in diameter, whereas the eyecup's end piece measures 31mm i ndiameter. Weight is 2169g.
