Spindler & Hoyer 10x40 "Gozehn"

Das Spindler & Hoyer Monokular 10x40 stammt aus der Zeit vor dem 2. Weltkrieg. Es ist aus Messing und Aluminium mit schwarz lackierten Deckeln und einer dunkelbraunen Lederummantelung. Die Augenmuschel ist aus Bakelit/Kunststoff. Der obere Deckel ist mit dem Firmennamen und der Werteangabe beschriftet. Der Dioptrienausgleich ist mit +/- 5 markiert. Am der eingegossenen Trageriemenöse ist die Seriennummer eingeschlagen - aufgrund starker Korrodierung ist sie kaum lesbar: evtl. 186106. Das Monokular wiegt 259g. Je nach Okulareinstellung ist das Glas 14,5 bis 15,3cm lang. Das Gehäuse ist oben 50x50mm und unten 55x55mm breit. Der ebenfalls mit Leder ummantelte Objektivtubus ist am Ansatz 4mm und außen 47mm im Durchmesser und 43mm lang. Das Okular ist 28mm, an der Augenmuschel 34mm breit.

The Spindler & Hoyer monocular 10x40 dates from before WWII. It was made of brass and aluminium and has black lacquered covers and a dark brown leather covering. The eye-cup is made of Bakelite/plastic. The top cover is inscribed with the firm's name and the specifications of the glass. Dioptre adjustment ranges from + to - 5. The serial number is stamped into the cast-in strap lug. Due to corrosion the number is hardly readable: probably 186106. The monocular weighs 259g. Depending on ocular adjustment it is 14.5 to 15.3 cm in length. The housing is 50x50mm at its top and 55x55mm at its bottom. The objective tube covered with brown leather as well is 40mm at its smaller end and 47mm at the lens end. The eyepiece is 28mm and the eye-cup is 34mm in diameter.
