Porro Prism Monocular

Dieses Porro I Prismen-Monokular ist in der typischen Zeiss-Bauform; da ich das Glas allerdings aus England erhalten habe, dürfte es eher von ROSS in London gebaut worden sein. Das Monokular hat keine Beschriftungen. Es ist aus Messing/Aluminium mit schwarzer Lackierung und einer dunkelbraunen Lederummatnelung. Die Augenmuschel ist aus Bakelit, der Dioptrienausgleich ist von + bis - 5 markiert. Am Gehäuse ist ein Metallstreifen mit Halteöse für den trageriemen angeschraubt. Letzteres und die Bauform sprechen für eine Herstellung vor oder während des 1. Weltkrieges.

This porro I prism monocular was made in the typical Zeiss design; as I got this glass from GB, it is probably made by ROSS London. There are no markings whatsoever. It is made of brass/aluminium with a black lacquering. There is a dark brown leather covering. The eye-cup is made of Bakelite. The dioptre adjustment ranges from + to - 5. For the carrying strap a metal strip with a lug is screwed to the body. THe latter and the construction type lets me assume this glass dates from before or during WWI.

Das Monokular ist 10,3 - 11,4 cm lang, das Gehäuse 45x45mm breit und 65mm lang. Es wiegt 184g. Die optischen Werte sind 8x20 (20mm Objektiv, 2,5mm Austrittspupille). Das Glas kam mit einem Futeral aus weichem Leder.
