Ross x8 (8x20)
| Das Ross 8x20 Monokular mit der Beschriftung nur "Ross, London" am oberen Deckel weist die Vergrößerung und Seriennummer "x8 No. 26029" noch an der Metallippe der Trageriemenöse auf und ist somit ein sehr frühes 8x Modell. Die Bauweise entspricht den Porro-1-Prismenmonokularen im Zeiss-Stil (vgl. Ross 8x). Das GEhäuse ist mit Leder ummantelt. | This Ross 8x20 monocular is marked only "Ross, London" on the top cover-plate, but still has the "x8 No. 26029" designation on the metal strip of the screwed-on strap-lug. so, it is a very early 8x model. It has the typical Zeiss construction of that time (cf. Ross 8x). The body is covered with leather. |
| Das Ross ist 100-110mm lang (geschätzt, da die Augenmuschel fehlt), oben am Gehäuse 45x43mm und unten 45x44mm breit. Es wiegt 187g. Der Objektivring ist 25mm, der Okulartubus 19mm bzw. am dickeren Deckelring 21,5mm im Durhcmesser. | The Ross is 100-110mm long (estimated because of the missing eyecup), and meaures 45x43mm at the top of the hosuing, and 45x44mm at its bottom. It weighs 187g. The objective frame is 25mm, the eyepiece 19mm or on the thicker part near the cover palte 21.5mm in daimeter. |
