Ross 5x17

This 5x17 monocular from 1918 or earlier was made by Ross/London. The flat prism covers of the two models I have are labelled with number "R 1094" or "R 1228" respectively, number 1918 (year or model number?) and a broad arrow (arrow heads), depicting a military glass.
It weighs 171g or 185g, is 10cm long and 4,5cm broad. I has a leather covering. Otherwise, the brass body is lacquered black. The metal strip screwed to the body does not have eyelets for the strap (any more). The objective lens can still be unscrewed easily as it is directly at the ouzter end of the objective tube - thus building no sunshade. The bakeltie eyecup is a 2/3 type with horizontal grooves. The dioptre scale runs all around the ocular being marked at +5, 0 and -5.
