Ross "Tritelmon" 12x 24x 42x 60

Das einzige (mir bekannte) von Ross London gefertigte Teleskop/Monokular mit Okularrevolver ist das "Tri-Tel-Mon" Modell aus den 1930er Jahren (s. Katalog). Das Prismenteleskop dürfte ein Porro 2 System haben und ist mit 3 Okularen ausgestattet. Es hat die Vergrößerungen 12x, 24x und 42x sowie ein 60mm Objektiv. Mit einem fest eingegossenem Adapter lässt es sich auf einem Stativ befstigen. Der Stativkopf ist mit identischer Seriennummer gekennzeichnet. Die Holzbeine lassen sich zusammenklappen. Alle Teile können in einem Transportkoffer untergrebracht werden (s. vorl. Foto). Alle Okulare haben einen Dioptrienausgleich. Am Objektivende lässt sich eine Sonnenblendrohr ausziehen.

The only telescope or monocular with an eypiece turret made by Ross London I know is the "Tri-Tel-Mon" model from the 1930s (see catalogue). The prism telescope is supposed to have a porro 2 prism system. and has three eypeices. It comes with 12x, 24x and 42x magnification and a 60mm objective lens. Iz can be mounted to a tripod with its cast-in adapter rod. The tripod head has the same serial number as the monocualr. The wooden legs can be folded. All parts fit into a carrying box (see second but last photo). All eypieces have a dioptre adjustment. There is an exendable sunshade at the obejctive end.

Die mir bekannten Exemplare unterscheiden sich leicht bei der Beschriftung. Das Modell No. 77596 hat kein Ross-Logo und die Modellbezeichnung "Tri-Tel-Mon" mit Bidnestrichen, die Vergrößerungsangaben sind mit einem Zuordnungsstrich im rechten Winkel zum Okular auf dem Okularrevolverdeckel beschriftet. Das Modell No. 79020 ist mit dem Ross-Logo und dem Namen "Tri Tel Mon" ohne Bindestriche gekennzeichnet. Die Vergrößerungsangeaben sind horiziontal bei den Okularen angebracht.

The models known to me differ slightly in respect ot their markings. Model No. 77596 has no Ross logo, and has inscribed the model name "Tri-Tel-Mon" with hyphens, the mangification dat is engraved are positioned in a right angle and a reference line to the eyepieces on the ocular turret cover. Model No. 79020 is marked with the Ross logo and the model name "Tri Tel Mon" without hyphens. The magnification data is positioned horizontally next to the eyepieces.

Das Teleskop wiegt 2697g. Es ist je nach Okularstellung 400mm bis 460mm lang - die Sonnenblende lässt sich bis zu 5cm ausziehen. Der konische Haupttubus verbreitert sich von 44mm auf 77mm im Durchmesser. Der gerade Objektivtubus ist 76mm ohne bzw. 80mm mit Sonnenblende im Durchmesser. Das 40mm lange Prismengehäuse ist 79mm im Durchmesser. Die Okulare sind 42mm bzw. 30mm bzw. 21mm, am Fokussierungsteil 46mm bzw. 34mm bzw. 25mm und die Augenmuscheln 33mm bzw. 34mm bzw. 25mm im Durchmesser. Der Stativadapter ist 175mm lang, das Befestigungsrohr 35mm im Durchmesser. Das Stativ wiegt ca. 2 kg und kann bis zu 160 cm ausgezogen werden. Der Lederkoffer ist 62x25x24cm groß und wiegt 4 kg.

The telescope weighs 2697g. Depending on eyepiece used and adjusted it is 40cmm to 46cm long - the sunshade can be extended up to 5cm. TZhe conical main tube increases from 44mm to 77mm in diameter. The straight obejctive tube is 76mm in diameter without and 80mm with the sunshade. The 40mm long prism housing is 79mm in diameter. The eyepieces measure 42mm or 30mm or 21mm, the focusing parts 46mm or 34mm or 25mm, and the eyecups 33mm or 34mm or 25mm in diameter. The tripod adapter is 175mm lang, and the mounting rod 35mm in diameter. The tripod weighs about 2 kg and can be extended up to 160 cm. The leather case measures 62x25x24cm and weighs 4 kg.
