Purlux Monocle x8

Das "Purlux Monocle" ist ein 8x25 Monokular aus deutscher oder englischer Fertigung. Es ist aus Messing und Aluminium mit schwarzer Lackierung der oben dreifach und unten zweifach verschraubten Deckel und einer strukturierten Rauhlackummatnelung. Das rechtsseitige Okular hat eine umlaufende Dioptrienskala mit Markierungen bis + und - 5. Die Augenmuschel ist aus braunem Bakelit und hat zum Aufschrauben einen Gewindering aus Messing. Die Prismen werden durch solide Klammern gehalten, die mit Schrauben von außen her justier bar sind (s. Foto 5). Die Beschriftung mit "x8" deutet auf ein Herstellungsdatum zwischen 1900 und dem 1. Weltkrieg hin.

The "Purlux Monocle" is a 8x25 monocular being made in Germany or England. It has brass and aluminium parts with black lacquering. The top cover has three, the bottom cover two screws. The body is covered with a rough textured paint. The right-hand sided ocular has a dioptre scale all around the ocular marked at + to - 5. The eyecup is amde of brwon Bakelite, threaded onto the ocular with a incorporated brass ring. The prisms are held by solid clamps that can be adhusted and fixed by screws from the outside (s. pic 5). The cover plate inscription "x8" hints at a early production between 1900 and WWI.

Das Monokular wiegt 254g. Es misst zwischen 105 und 115mm in der Länge. Die Objektivfassung hat einen 29mm Durchmesser, das Okular einen von 22mm, der Fokussierungsteil von 27mm und die Augenmuschel von 32mm. Das Gehäuse ist oben 46x46mm und unten 51x52mm breit.

The monocular weighs 254g. It measures between 105 and 115mm in lenght. The objective frame diameter is 29mm, the ocular diameter is 22mm, the focusing aprt being 27mm, and the eyecup being 32mm in diameter. The housing is 46x46mm at its top and 51x52mm at its bottom.
