Presicion Optical Co. Ltd. 6x30 Monocular

Ein 6x30 Monokular aus Messing mit Lederummantelung und der für englische Ferngläser typischen Halteöse integriert im überstehenden Gehäusedeckelrand.
Das Glas wurde von der "Precision Optical Co. Ltd." in London hergestellt. Es ist mit den "Pfeilsymbolen" für britische Militärgläser gekennzeichnet und könnte bereits aus der Zeit des 1. Weltkriegs stammen. Der obere Deckel ist mit den "broad arrow", dem Firmennamen, No. 4192 und "monocular power = 6" beschriftet, der untere Deckel trägt ebenfalls das Pfeilsymbol und die Qualitätskonrollenummer 17 hinter den Initialien des National Physical Labaratory (NPL). Beide Deckel sind vierfach verschraubt. Ein weiteres Exemplar hat die Seriennummer "4307" und die "NPL 18" Markierung.

The monocular was made by the "Precision optical Co. Ltd." in London . It is marked with the arrow signs standing for British military objects. It could possibly date already from WWI. The prism covers have four screws. The top cover is marked wit broad arrows, with the company's name, with "No 4192", and "monocular power = 6". The bottom cover has arrows too, and is engraved with the initials of the National Physical Labaratory (NPL) follwed by the quality control number "17". Another model is marked with S/N 4307 and NPL 18.

Die Versionen unterscheiden sich durch die Position des Okular: linksseitig bzw. rechtseitig; und beim 4307 Modell durch die Kennzeichnung mit einem gelben Pfeil am Gehäuse.

The versions differ in respect to a left-hand sided and a right-hand sided eyepiece, and a yellow arrow marking on the housing of the 4307 model.
