Le Pointer 9x63

Das Dachkantprismen-Monokular in Dialytform stammt möglicherweise aus aus französischer Fertigung, da der Modellname "Le Pointer" ist. Innen auf der Gesichtsfeldblende befindet sich die Inschrift "J 8274", die allerdings wiederum eine mögliche japanische Herstellung vermuten lässt. Der Name "Le Pointer" bedeutet "Der Zieler"; dies und der am Montagesockel abgebildete Hund lassen auf ein Zielfernrohr für die Jagd schließen. Im Okular befindet sich ein Gabel-artige Visiereinrichtung (s. Foto). Das Aluminiummonokular hat eine Gummiarmierung am Tubus, der es vor Wasser schützt und griffig macht. Am konischen Tubus befindet sich ein Montagesockel mit zwei Schraublöchern, die zur Befestigung auf einem Stativ oder sogar Gewehr dienen könnten. Das 63mm Objektiv ist blau vergütet – ebenso die Okularlinse. Der Dioptrienausgleich hat nur eine Strichmarkierung ohne Bschriftungszahlen und reicht von +2 bis -4. Außerdem hat das Okular eine breite Weichgummiaugenmuschel.

The roof-top prism monocular (Dialyt type) was probably made in France, as the model name is "Le Pointer". On the other hand, the iris diaphragm inside is inscribed "J 8274", hinting at a Japanese brand. The name "Le Pointer" means "The Aimer"; this and the dog depicted on the mounting piece let me assume it was made for hunting use. There also is a fork-like sighting device within the ocular (s. photo). The aluminium monocular is covered with a rubber armouring, giving some water-resistance and allowing a sure grip. The conical tube has a mounting piece with two screw holes at its side. These could be meant to fix it on a tripod or even a rifle. The 63mm objective and the ocular lens are coated blue. The dioptre adjustment is only marked with lines but no numbers, ranging from +2 to -4. Moreover, the ocular is supplied with a broad soft rubber eye-cup.
