PAB-2 - 6x22 Visier

Der PAB-2 Richtkreis (PAB = "Periskopische Artillerie-Bussole") wurde seit den 1960er Jahren in den Ostblockstaaten beim Militär eingesetzt; er wird heutzutage noch von ZRAK (Sarjewo) gebaut. Er arbeitet mit einem 6x22 Visierfernrohr mit Porro 1 Prismen. Der seitliche Träger ist mit "PAB-2M" beschriftet. Die Optik ist blau-magenta vergütet. Das Alu-Okular hat einen Dioptrieneinstellung ohne Beschriftungen und eine Strichplatte, die bleuchtet werden kann. Oben am Gehäuse befindet sich ein einfaches Visier (Rille mit Stift). Die Metallteile sind olivgrün lackiert, das Objektiv, der Strichskalenring und einige Knöpfe sind unlackiert aus blankem Aluminium. Zwei Knopfabdeckungen und der kugelförmige Stativsockel sind aus rot-braunem Hartkunststoff.

The PAB-2 aiming circle (PAB = "Periscopic Artilly Boussole") was made since the 1960s for militar use within the Eastern Bloc states. It is still made by ZRAK in Sarajewo. It works with a 6x22 sight with porro 1 prisms. THe mount is marked "PAB-2M". The optics are coated blue and magenta. The aluminium eyepiece has a diopte adjustment, but woth no scale. It also comes with a reticle which can be illuminated. On top of the hosuing is a simple bead and sight (a groove and a pin). The metal parts are lacquered olive-green, the objective tube and the aiming circle ring and some knobs are unpaitned, made of aluminium. Two covers for the wheel knobs and the tripod ball base are made of brownish-red plastic.

Wie andere Richkreise hat auch der PAB-2 einen runde Libellenwasserwaage, einen länglichen Kompass zur Nord-Südausrichtung (2 runde Sichtfesnster für die Nadelspitzen) und einen Peilkreis mit Strichskala (6000mil). Das Monokular lässt sich mittels einer markierten Rändelschraube am Okulardeckel vertikal justieren. Zum Drehen der Peilscheibe und des Stativkopfes gibt es ebenfalls Rändelschrauben, dessen Feintrieb sich mit einem Hebel zur Schnellverstellung lösen lässt. Auch für die Kompassnadel gibt es eine Arretierung. Die Peilscheibe hat eine rote und schwarze Strichskala. Zur Einstellung der roten Skala lässt sich der rote Ziffern-Ring sowie die Mikrometerschraube lösen und frei drehen.

Like other aiming circles the PAB-2 also has a round bubble level, a compass in a rectangular compartment for a North-South alignment (2 circular windows to read the position of the pointed needle ends), and a aiming circle scale ring (6000mils). The monocular can be adjusted vertically by menas of a marked micrometre knob. There are also knobs to turn the aiming circle ring and the tripod ball head. You can can losen the fine adjustment with a lever to gain quick adjustment. There is a locking lever for the compass as well. The aiming circle has a black and red scale; to adjust the red scale the scale ring and the micrometer screw can be unlocked and turned freely.

Das PAB-2 gab es in verschiedenen Ausführungen, z.B. auch mit einem Periskopaufsatz als reines Sichtgerät, mit einem zusätzlichen Orientierungsaufsatz (ANB-1; 4x Vergrößerung; s. Bild 10), oder einem Doppelbild- bzw. Schnittbild-Entfernungsmesser (DDI-3; 20x Vergrößerung; s. Bild 11-12), der gleichzeitig genutzt werden konnte. Die Zubehbörinstrumente wurden am Objektivtubus montiert. Zum Transport für den PAB, das Periskop und den Entfernungsmesser gibt es Plastikbehälter. Der Orientierungsaufsatz war zumeist mit in dem Richtkreisbehälter untergrebracht. Der vorliegende Behälter enthält auch ein Senklot. Zum normalen Gebrauch ist das Stativ vonnöten. Für den PAB und das Zubehör gibt es auch Beleuchtungseinheiten.

The PAB-2 was issued with different equipment. There was a periscopic tube for mere viewing, an extra 4x sight as an orientation attachment (ANB-1; see pic. 10), and a double image rangefinder (DDI-3; 20x power; pics 11-12)which could be used a the same time. The accessories were mounted on the objective tube. The aiming circle, the periscope and the rangefidner come with a plastic case. The orientation attachment usually was incldued in the aiming circle box. The case I have contains a plummet. The tripod is needed for regular use. There are also illumination units for the PAB and the accessory instruments.

Der Richtkreis ist in seinen breitesten Ausmaßen ca. 19x13x12cm groß. Das PAB-2 wiegt 2301g, der Plastiktrasnportbehälter 1170g, der Periskopspiegel 555g und dessen vorliegender Metall-Köcher 970g.
