Nippon Kogaku 5-21x50

Das vorliegende terrestrische Zoomteleskop ist eine sehr frühe Produktion von der 1917 neu gegründeten Firma "Nippon Kogaku K.K.". Am Tubus zwischen Dioptrien- und Zoomring ist es mit dem ersten Symbol-Logo von Nippon Kogaku gekennzeichnet. Es hat Kennzeichnung "JOICO PATENT", wobei JOICO für "Japanese Optical Industries Corporation Patent", der englischen Übersetzung von "Nippon Kogaku Kogyo Kabushikigaisha", steht. Zu Anfang wurden einige Optiken noch englisch beschriftet. Die gravierte Seriennummer lautet 1754. Auch am geriffelten Fokussierungsring und Zoomring sind japanische Schriftzeichen eingestanzt, die vermutlich deren Funktion bzw. Einstellungsbereich wiedergeben.

The terrestrial zoom telescope here is a very early product by "Nippon Kogaku K.K." founded newly in 1917. It is marked between the dioptre and zoom ring with the first logo symbol by Nippon Kogaku. It is also inscribed "JOICO PATENT". JOICO stands for "Japanese Optical Industries Corporation", the English translation of "Nippon Kogaku Kogyo Kabushikigaisha". At the company's beginning some optics were still marked in English. The serial number is 1754. Moreover, no the knurled focusing and zoom ring some Japanese signs are stamped in. Assumingly, they denote the function or the adjustment range.

Das Fernrohr hat eine Fadenkreuzstrichplatte und eine Beleuchtungseinheit, dessen Kappe mit einer Kette am Tubus gesichert wurde. Für das Objektiv gibt es ein Metallschutzkappe mit Lochblende. Die Augenmuschel besteht aus zwei zusammengesteckten Gummiteilen. Mit einem Dioptrienring lässt sich das Fernrohr fokussieren. Zwischen diesem und dem Haupttubus ist ein 73mm langer Zoom-Drehring. Die Zoomeinstellung lässt sich am Ende zum Haupttubus hin ablesen. Die Vergrößerungsangaben sind: 5, 7,5, 10, 15, 21 und haben eine zusätzliche eine Pfeilspitze; einen zugehörige Referenzmarke am Abschlussring des Hauptubuses ist nicht erkennbar. Das Teleskop ist schwarz lackiert.

The telescope has a cross-hairs reticle with a lighting unit of which its cap is secured with a chain to the tube. There is a metal protection cap with a light stop for the objective end. The eyecup is made of two combined rubber parts. Focusing is done with the dioptre ring. Between this and the main tube is a 73mm long rotatable zoom ring. The zoom adjustment can be read next to end of the zoom part. The power steps given are: 5, 7.5., 10, 15 and 21, also having a arrow head; a corresponding reference line is missing on the main tube end. The telescope is lacquered black.

Das 5-21x50 wiegt 6,4kg und ist 635-645mm lang. Der Haupttubus ist 63mm, das Tubusteil, wo die Beleuchtungsfassung montiert ist, ist 70mm, der Fokussierungs- und Zoomring sind 61mm und die Augenmuschel 81mm im Durchmesser.

The 5-21x50 weighs 6.4kg and is 635-645mm long. The main tube measures 63mm, the tube part with the illumination socket is 70mm, the focusing and the zoom ring are 61mm, and the eyecup is 81mm in diameter.
