Nikon 20x80 Boulevard Scope

Das so genannte Boulevard Scope ist ein 20x80 Münzfernrrohr. Wie die meisten seiner Art wurde es auf einer Standsäule montiert und hatte einen Münzautomaten auf der rechten Seite (s. Fotos unten). Das vorliegende Modell war gelb lackiert und hat einen blau-grauen Standfuß mit Gabelhalterung. Ein Exemplar mit Nr. 2319 hat noch das Nippon Kogaku Tokyo Logo aus den 1940er-60er Jahren sowie die Beschriftung 20x 8cm links bzw. rechts davon, während da neuere vorliegende am vierfach veschraubten Prismengehäusedeckel bereits mit dem 1970er Schriftzug "Nikon" sowie 20x80 geprägt ist. Lediglich an der Tubusseite ist der Nikon-Name ergänzt mit "Nippon Kogaku K.K. Tokyo Japan" aufgeführt.

The so called Boulevard Scope is a 20x80 coin-operated telescope. As msot of its kind it was mounted on pillar and came with a coin apparatus on its right ahnd side (see photos at bottom). The mdoel here was yellow and has a blueish-grey dome-shaped foot with a yoke mount. The sepcimen with the Nr. 2319 still has the Nippon Kogaku Tokyo Logo from the 1940-60s as well as its specifications 20x and 8cm marked to the left and right of the logo, whereas the later one depicted here is marked with the new "Nikon" script logo from the 1970s and "20x80" on the cover plate fixed with four screws. Only on the tube side is also inscribed "Nippon Kogaku K.K. Tokyo Japan" after the Nikon name.

Das Münzfernrohr ist 55-56cm lang. Das quaderförmige Prismengehäuse ist ca. 12x15x20cm. Der dicke runde Okularansatz ist 110mm, der Okulartubus 45mm, der Fokussierungsring 57mm und die Metallaugenmuschel 43mm im Durchmesser. Der konische Objektivtubus verbreitert sich von 105 auf 120mm im Durchmesser. Der gelbe Abschlussdeckel links an der Gabelhalterung ist 7cm dick und ca. 96mm im Durchmesser. Der kuppelförmige Fuß ist ca. 18cm hoch und 16cm im Durchmesser. Die Gabelhalterung ist ca. 20cm hoch und 21 cm breit. Das 20x80 mit der Halterung wiegt ca. 13,7kg.

The coin operated scope is 55-56cm long. The rectangular prism housing measures approx. 12x15x20cm. The thick round eyepiece tube is 110mm, the eypiece itself 45mm, the focusing ring 57mm and the metal eyecup 43mm in diameter. The concial objective tube isncreases from 105 to 120mm in diameter. The yellow end cover on the left side of the yoke mount is 7cm thick and c. 96mm in diameter. The dome-shaped foot base is about 18cm tall and 16cm in diameter. The yoke mount is c. 20cm tall and 21 cm wide. The 20x80 weighs about 13.7kg with its mounting.
