| Das 6x24 Monokular zeigt die für Barr & Stroud typische Bauform mit einem überstehenden oberen Deckel, in den ein Schlitz für den Trageriemen ausgespart ist. Die Aufschrift mit "Negretti & Zambra" besagt, dass das Glas von diesen Londoner Optikern vertrieben wurde. Außer der Vergrößerungsangabe "x6" befindet sich noch die Produktionsnummer "17145" am oberen Deckel. Das Monokular ist aus schwarz lackiertem Messing mit einer Rauhlackummantelung bzw. strukturiertem Gehäuse. Die Augenmuschel ist aus Kunststoff. Der Dioptrienausgleich geht von + bis - 5. |
This 6x24 monocular shows the typical Barr & Stroud design, a protruding top cover with a slot/lug for the strap. The marking "Negretti & Zambra" say that these opticians distributed the glass. Besides gibing the magnification "x6" there is a production number, i.e. 17145, engraved at the top cover. The monocular was made of black lacquered brass with a rough paint covering or a textured body respectively. The eye-cup is made of plastic. dioptre adjustment ranges from + to - 5. |
| Das Monokular wiegt 270g, ist 10,5cm bis 11,1cm lang, das Gehäuse ca. 5x5cm breit. Das Okular hat einen Durchmesser von 27mm (33mm an der Augenmuschel) und der Objektivtubus von 32mm. Ein weiteres Negretti & Zambra Monokular (Bild 5) wurde in Ebay ohne spezifische angaben angeboten. Beide Gläse dürften aus der Zeit um den 1. Weltkrieg stammen. |
