Carl Müller 8x30

Die Otpikfirma "Carl Müller" gibt es seit 1848. Das vorliegende 8x30 Monokular dürfte aus den 20-30er Jahren des letzten Jahrhunderts stammen; vermutlich wurde es jedoch in Frankreich gefertigt und mit dem ovalen Kreis-Logo und "CARL MÜLLER WIEN VI" für den Otpiker beschriftet. Dafür spricht z.B. die typisch französische 2/3 Plastikaugenmuschel und der am Deckel anliegende Okulargewindering. Der Dioptrienring aus Messing weist außer "0" keine Ziffern auf. Das Gehäuse und Deckel sind aus Aluminium und mit Hartgummi ummantelt bzw. schwarz lackiert.

The optic company "Carl Müller" was founded in 1848. The 8x30 glass here must date from the 1920-30s. It was probably made in France and marked for Müller with the oval logo "CARL MÜLLER WIEN VI" (VI = 6th urban quarter). A proof for that could be the 2/3 plastic eyecup and the eyepiece threaded counter ring at the cover, both characteristic of French makes. The brass dioptre ring has no numbers besides "0". The housing and its covers are made of aluminium and covered with ebonite or painted black respectively.

Das 8x30 ist 106-111mm lang. Das Gehäuse misst oben 45x45mm und unten 48x48mm. Die Objektivfassung hat einen 33,5mm, das Okular einen 21mm und der Fokussierungteil der Augenmuschel einen 32,5mm Durchmesser. Das Monokular wiegt 203g.
