E. Leitz 8x (8x24)

Dieses 8x24 Porro-1-Monokular ist aus der frühen Baureihe von Leitz, ca. 1908-1913 (aufgrund vorliegender Kataloge nicht später als 1911; s.u.). Es hat den typischen an einer Seite gebogenene oberen Deckel und einen Objekttubus mit erweiterter Objektivfassung. Das Aluminiumgehäuse hat eine Lederummantelung mit einer zweifach angeschraubten Trageriemenöse. Die Deckel sind unverschraubt und schwarz lackiert. Der obere ist mit "E.Leitz Wetzlar 8X" beschriftet. Die Augenmuschel aus Metall am linksseitigen Okular scheint nicht original zu sein. Es gibt eine umlaufende Dioptrienskala mit Markierungen bei Null und +/- Fünf. This 8x24 Porro 1 monocular dates fromt he early series by Leitz - c. 1908-1913 (duet to knwon catalogues not later than 1911; see bottom of page). IT has the typical top cover plate bent on one side and a obejctive tube with a wider lens frame. The aluminium body has a leather covering with a screwed-on strap lug (two screws). The covers ar paitned black and have no screws. The top one is marked "E.Leitz Wetzlar 8X". The metal eyecup on the left-hand sided eyepiece seems not to be original. There is a full doptre scale with markings at zero and +/- five.

Das 8x ist zwischen 112 und 117mm lang. Das Okularstück ist 22mm, der kreuzweise geriffelte Fokussierungsteil 31mm und die Augenmuschel 27mm im Durchmesser. Das Gehäuse ist oben und unten 42,5x42,5mm breit. Der Objektivtubus ist 26mm, der 15mm lange Objektivfassung 29mm im Durchmesser. Das Monokular wiegt 199g. The 8x is between 112 and 117mm long. The eyepiece is 22mm, te cross-wise knurled focusing ring is 31mm, and the eyecup is 27mm in diameter. The housing is 42.5x42.5mm wide at its top and bottom. The objective tube is 26mm, the 15mm long objective frame is 29mm in diameter. The monocular weighs 199g.
