Leitz 12x60 "Monoforte" (Porro II)

Das vorliegende 12x60 Monokular von Leitz mit Porro-II-Prismensystem wäre als zivile Version ein "Monoforte". Da diese Bezeichnung nicht auf dem Deckel ist, köntne es ein militärische Variante am Ende des 1. Weltkriegs sein. Dafür spricht die Kennzeichnung mit einer Krone und M sowie "3141" an der Objektivfassung, welches für die kaiserliche Marine stehen könnte. Die Seriennummer ist 90106. Der Deckelrand außen oben ist mit "OK - KM - CTP" graviert und danach "Flandern" eingeritzt. Das Exemplar ist aus schwarz lackiertem Messing und mit Hartgummi überzogen; es hat nur eine Trageriemenöse (schräg links am Deckel). Der konische Obejktivtubus ist mit einem mittigen Zierring versehen. Der Deckel ist vierfach verschraubt. Die das Okular umlaufende Dioptrienskala reicht von +5 bis -5. Der Fokussierungsrin ist diagonal kreuzgeriffelt. Die Augenmusciel ist aus braunem Bakelit.

This 12x60 monocular by Leitz with a Porro II prism system would be a civilian version called a "Monoforte". Since this designation is not on the cover plate, it could be a military variant from the end of World War I. The focusing ring is diagonally cross-knurled. The eyepiece is made of brown Bakelite.
