| Diese 8x30 BBT Porro-1-Monokulare haben eine Strichplatte mit 100er Teilung in 10er Schritten horizontal und 25er Teilung vertikal korrespondierend mit der 1000er-Grad-Teilung für die Armee (Franz.: Millièmes!). Die Deckel sind einfach verschraubt und schwarz lackiert. Der obere Deckel ist mit "BBT Paris Mmes. 8x30 Dgr" beschriftet. Der untere Deckel trägt das (schwedische) Kronen-Symbol und 6247/41 bzw. 9979/41, wobei die "41" auf das Jahr hinweist. Das Gehäuse hat eine Raulackummantelung, die Augenmuschel ist aus Kunststoff. Die umlaufende Dioptrienskala am linksseitigen Okular ist mit Null, +5 und -5 gekennzeichnet. Das erste Exemplar ist blau vergütet, das zweite Exemplar hat eine unvergütete Optik. | This 8x30 BBT Porro I monocular has a blue coating and comes with a reticle having a horizontal division of 0-100 in decimal steps and a vertical division of 0-25 corresponding to the army thousandth degree divisions (French: Millièmes!). Both cover plates have one screw and are painted black. The top cover is marked "BBT Paris Mmes. 8x30 Dgr". The bottom cover plate bears the (Swedish) crown symbol and number 6247/41 or 9979/41 respectively, of which the "41" hints to the year of issue. The housing has an textured Ebonite finish. The eyecup is made of plastic. The dioptre scale runs fully around the eyepiece and is marked at 0, +5 and -5. the first specimen has a blue coating, the second is uncoated. |
| Der Besitzer des ersten Exemplars "P. Gibson" hat nicht nur seinen Namen mit einem Papierschild aufgeklebt, sondern alle Flächen des Monokulars genutzt, um benötigte Umrechnungsformeln zur Höhen- und Entfernungsmessung aufzuschreiben und -zukleben. Insgesamt sind es sechs Aufkleber, eines mit der Skizze des Porro-1-Systems. Außerdem hat der Besitzer sich eine Markierung an der Dioptrienskala angebracht, die für die Refraktion seines Auges stimmt. Unter dem Aufkleber des unteren Deckels befindet sich das Kronensymbol und die Nummerierung. | The former owner of the first specimen "P. Gibson" did not only stick a slip of paper with his name to the top cover, but also used every side of the monocular to glue papers on it giving needed distance and height calculating formula. In total there are six stickers, one showing a sketch of the Porro I system. Moreover, the owner has marked the dioptre scale n a position fitting his eye refraction. Beneath the sticker on the lower cover plate one an uncover the crown symbol and the numbering. |
