E. Krauss & C^ie 8x20

Das E. Krauss & Cie Monokular mit Nr. 172 (andere mit Nr.167 u. 241) im Zeiss-Design ist laut Katalog (s. Bild unten) ein 8x20 Modell vom Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts, messbar ist jedoch ein 21mm Objektivdurchmesser. Wie die frühen Zeiss-Modelle ist die Gravur am oberen Deckel mit Silberlot ausgelegt, nämlich "E. Krauss, Paris No172". Die Messingdeckel sind schwarz lackiert und haben 3 Schrauben, das Okular mit einer 3/3 Hartgummi-Augenmuschel hat eine Dioptrienskala von + bis - 10, wobei diese bei 5 und 0 markiert ist. Der Korpus ist lederummantelt und hat eine lange Trageriemenöse.

Krauss & Cie monocular with Nr. 172 (others with Nr. 167 and 241) in the typical Zeiss design is listed in a catalogue from the beginning of the 20th century (see below) as being a 8x20 model; when measured it turns aout to have a 21mm objective diameter. Like on th eearly Zeiss models the engraving on the top cover is filled with sivler solder, namely "E. Krauss, Paris No172". The brass cover plates are lacquered black and have 3 screws. The eyepiece has a 3/3 Ebonite eyecup with a dioptre range from + to - 10, but inscribed at 5 and 0. The housing is covered with leather and has a screwed-on strap lug.

Das 8x Monokular ist 103-111mm lang. Es wiegt 200g. Das Gehäuse ist unten 44x44mm und oben 52x52 breit. Die Objektivfassung ist 25mm, das Okular 19mm, der Fokussierungsring 24mm und die Augenmuschel am Ende 33mm im Durchmesser.
