Kershaw 6x30 (1941)

Dies ist ein 6x30 Monokular von Kershaw aus schwarz lackiertem Messing und Alu mit einer Rauhlackummantelung. Der obere, einfach verschraubte Deckel zeigt auf dem blanken Messing folgende Beschriftung "GRATICULES 1/2° APART AND 1/4° 1/2° AND 1° HIGH" darunter "Kershaw" im Oval, darunter 1941. Schräg außen steht "O.S. 108 M.A.". Es handelt sich offensichtlich um ein Militärglas, allerdings ist die Strichplatte, für die die Graticules-Angaben stehen nicht vorhanden. Das Objektiv hat einen Exzenterring und darüber einen Abdeckring. Der Dioptrienring geht von + bis - 5, der Fokussierungsteil ist vertikal geriffelt. Die Augenmuschel aus Plastik hat eine Ausbuchtung für eine Schraube (s. Foto), dessen Zweck nicht bekannt ist.

This is a 6x30 Monocular by Kershaw made of black painted brass and alloy with a crinkle paint finish. The top cover plate has one screw and is inscribed "GRATICULES 1/2° APART AND 1/4° 1/2° AND 1° HIGH" on the blank surface. Below that is the ovbal emblem with "Kershaw" in it and "1941". Diagonally near the rim it says "O.S. 108 M.A.", Obviously this is a military glass , although the reticule corresponding to the data is not in place. The objective has an eccentric and a retaining ring. The dioptre scale ranges from + to - 5. The focusing part is grooved vertically. The plastic eyecup has a screw socket protruding at it. Its prupose is uncertain.

Mit Trageriemen wiegt das Monokular 347g. Es ist 119mm bis 128mm lang je nach Okulareinstellung. Das Gehäuse misst oben 51x52mm und unten 56x56mm. Das Okularstück ist 27mm, der Fokussierungsring 30,5mm, die Augenmuschel 34mm und die Objektivfassung 39mm im Durchmesser. Ein weiteres Exemplar hat eine rotbraune Öederummantelung, blanke Messingdeckel, ist am oberen Deckel mit "Kershaw & Son Leeds" anstelle des Logos und unten mit dem "broad arrow" beschriftet. Das Okular hat noch die Strichplatt mit jeweils 2 kleinen und zwei längeren Teilstrichen links und rechts vom Mittelstrich. Im Gegensatz zum an der Kante geriffelten Abschlussobjetivring des ersten ist bei diesem Modell dieser glatt.
