Hofmann monocular (porro I)A very old monocular (ca. 1862/63) in a flask shape.According to Seeger (Military binoculars ... p. 72): 15x26; the lever on the side was used to focus. This is one of the first porro-prism-systems in monocular construction (made by Porro himself and later by his employee Hofman). The internet source (see bottom) states this to be a "monocular - Replica of 1850s Hofmann model, Circa 1890 by Secretan?" |
