Harwix Berlin 7x17,5

Dies wäre die rechte Hälfte des "Mirakel" Minifernglases von Harwix Berlin, ist aber eine echte monokulare Variante, allerdings mit einem längerem und schwarz lackierten Messingobjektivtubus. Der obere Deckel trägt die erhabene Beschriftung "•Harwix•Berlin•", eine weitere Angabe gibt es nicht, die optischen Werte liegen aber bei 7x17,5. Das Besondere ist, dass der Korpus aus Bakelit gegossen ist und den Konturen der innen liegenden Porroprismen innen und äußerlich folgt; so bildet er auch gleich eine passende Halterung für die Prismen. Auch die Augenmuschel besteht komplett mit Dioptrienausgleihc und Skala (+/-5) aus Bakelit; sie ist daher eine 3/3 Augenmuschel wie sie nur vor und um 1900 Anwendung fand. Da die Optik unvergütet ist, könnte das monokular aus der Zeit zwischen den Weltkriegen stammen. Der obere und untere Gehäuseteil wird durch lange Messingschrauben gehalten, eine Messingtrageöse ist eingegossen.

This could be the right half of the "Mirakel" miniature binoculars by Harwix Berlin, but truly is a monocular model, the black painted brass objective tube is longer though. The top side of the housing is marked "•Harwix•Berlin•" with raised letters. There are no other markings. Optical specifications are 7x17.5. The special thing about the glass is its fully cast Bakelite housing which is shaped in- and outwards after the porro prisms inside – thus also building a fitting prism cage. The eyecup and the focusing part with dioptre scale (+/-5) as well is completely made of Bakelite. So, it is a 3/3 eyecup, a construction detail previously only used around 1900. As the optics are uncoated, this monocular may date from between the wars. The two Bakelite body parts are screwed together with long brass screws. A brass lug is cast into the Bakelite.

Das Gehäuse ist 40x30mm breit und 32mm hoch. Das Okular hat einen Durchmesser von 16mm, die Augenmuschel von 25,6mm. Der Objektivtubus ist 19,5mm lang und verbreitert sich von 17 auf 20mm. Die Gesamtlänge liegt zwischen 74,5 und 78mm. Das Gewicht mit Bändchen ist 78g.

The housing measures 40x30mm in width and 32mm in height. The ocular is 16mm in diameter, the eyecup 25.6mm. The objective tube is 19.5mm long and increases from 17 to 20mm in diameter. Overall length is 74.5 - 78mm. The Harwix weighs 78g with its lanyard.
