Hansa 20x50

Bei diesem japanischen Monokular oder Spektiv handelt es sich um ene Konstruktion mit einem kleinen Porro-I-Prismenmonokular, dessen Objektivteil mit einem langen breiten Tubus versehen ist, um eine höhere Vergrößerung und Lichtstärke zu erreichen. Die Objektivtuben der gezeigten Modelle sind unterschiedlich geformt (einmal mit einem konischen Anfang und einem geraden zylindrischen Endtubus; das andere mit 3 konischen Teilstücken), aber in einem Teil gegossen und am Prismengehäuse befestigt. Zwei Modelle sind mit "Hansa 20x50" gekennzeichnet: das graublau lackierte Modell am Prismengehäuse (dort auch ein Hansa-Logo sowie "Wide field, B-7 No. 39478"), das andere braun-grünlich lackierte Modell auf dem Objektivschutzdeckel. Letzterer trägt auch die Bezeichnung "Mark II", was auf eine militärische verwendung in den USA oder auch Kanada schlieseen lässt. Welche Hersteller diese Spektive haben, bleibt unklar. Da ein Modell vergütete Optiken aufweist, müssten die Modelle aus der Nachkriegszeit stammen. Das 'Hansa' ist ca. 23cm lang und hat ein Stativ mit Gabelhalterung für das Monokular.

This Japanese monocular or spotting scope is a small porro 1 monocular combined with a long objective tube to achieve a higher magnification and aperture. The objective tubes of the modles depicted here have a differnt design. One comes with a conical tube at the beginning, and a straight end part near the obejctive lens. The other model has three conical parts cast in one piece which is attached directly to the prism housing. Two models are labeled "Hansa 20x50": the greyish-blue model is marked on the prism body (also marked with a Hansa logo as well as "Wide field, B-7 No. 39478"), the other brownish-green model Modell is marked at the objective cap. This is inscribed "Mark II" as well, denoting a US or Canadian military use. What companies made these scopes remain uncertain. As one model has coated optics the models must be post-war makes. The 'Hansa' is ca. 23cm long and has a tripod with a forked mount for the monocular.

Das Spektiv wurde auch in einem Lederbehälter geliefert, in dem Monokular und Stativ verstaut werden konnten. Ähnlich konstruierte Modelle sind das Omniscope oder das Hama 25x30.

The scope was also supplied with a leather bag to store the monocular and the tripod. Simlar modern monoculars are the Omniscope or the Hama 25x30.
