C.P. Goerz 8x26

Dies ist ein 8x26 Triëder Monocle von C.P. Goerz aus Berlin mit Seriennummer 205027 (s. oberer Deckel), daher wohl aus dem Jahre 1910; ein weiteres Exemplar hat Seriennummer 262846, ca. 1911. Das Aluminiumgehäuse hat einen strukturierten Hartgummiüberzug, die Mesingdeckel sind schwarz lackiert und unten zweifach sowie oben dreifach verschraubt. Die Tragerriemenöse ist eingegossen. Das Okular hat eine komplett umlaufende Dioptrienskale mit den üblichen Beschriftungen bei Null und Fünf. Die Augenmuschel ist aus schwarzem Bakelit. Die Deckelgravur ist mit Silberlot ausgelegt. Der Deckel beim linksseitige bzw. rechtsseitigen Okular ist mit dem Goerz Prismen-Logo gekennzeichnet, jeweils links und rechts davon steht "Trieder" und "Monocle", darunter die Seriennummer. Das frühere Exemplar hat über dem Logo keine Vergrößerungsangabe, das spätere ist mit "8x" gekennzeichnet.

This is a 8x26 Triëder Monocle by C.P. Goerz Berlin with the serial number 205027 (s. top cover plate), thus dating from 1910. Another model has the serial number 262846 from about 1911. The aluminium housing is covered with textured ebonite, the brass cover plates are lacquered black. The lower plate has two screws, whereas the top plate has three screws. The strap lug is cast in the body. The dioptre scale is fully running around the ocular having the common markings at zero and five. The eyecup is made of Bakelite. The top cover engraving is in-filled with silver solder. The top cover plates of the left-hand sided and right-hand sided version are marked with the Goerz prism logo. To the left and right of the logo are the words "Trieder" and "Monocle", below this there is the serial number. The earlier model is not, the later model is inscribed with the power above the logo, i.e. "8x".

Das 8x26 Monokular wiegt 262g ohne Trageriemen. Es ist 110-115mm lang, oben am Gehäuse 48x47mm und unten 49x53mm breit. Die Objektivfassung ist 32mm, das Okularstück 23mm im Durchmesser. Der Fokussierungsteil misst 28mm und die Augnemuschel 33mm im Durhcmesser.

This 8x26 monocular weighs 262g without its strap lug. It is 110-115mm in length. The housing measures 48x47mm at its top and 49x53mm at its bottom. The objective frame is 32mm, the eyepiece 23mm, the knurled focusing ring 28mm, and the eyecup 33mm in diameter.
