Diese Monokulare wurden aus einem Goerz Neo-Trieder Fernglas 12x24 angefertigt. Durch Absägen der Brücke (Stümpfe sind an den Gehäusen zu erkennen) erhielt man zwei seperate Hälften: beide Hälften wurden am Okular umgebaut und jeweils mit einer Strichplatte versehen, dabei verblieb der linke Teil als 12fach Monokular und der rechte wurde verändert zu einem 18fach Monokular. Der linke Deckel trägt die aus Silberlit eingelegte Schrift "C.P. Goerz Berlin" im Prismenlogo, darunter "12x", der rechte Deckel hat das Prismenlogo mit der Beschriftung "Neo Trieder", darüber wohl neu angebracht "18x" und unter dem Logo "D.R.P.". Beide Teile haben schwarz lackierte Messingdeckel, mit Rauhlack ummantelte Gehäuse und 2/3 Kunststoffaugenmuscheln. Der Samt gefütterte Lederbehälter wurde innen so erweitert, dass beide Monokulare sicher verstaut werden können. Die Innenseite des Deckel trägt die Adresse des Optikers, der entweder das Originalgla, den Köcher vertrieben oder das Fernglas umgebaut hat: "G. Lee & Son, 33 The Hard, Portsmouth", darüber eine Krone.

These monoculars were made from a Goerz Neo-Trieder 12x24 binocular. By sawing off the bridge (stumps still visible at housings) two seperate halves were created: both halves were set with a refurbished ocular with a reticle. The left half remained a 12x monocular, the right half was changed to a 18x glass. The left cover plate is marked with silver solder "C.P. Goerz Berlin" in the prism logo, then below "12x", the right cover plate is marked "Neo-Trieder", above newly inscribed "18x" (in the prism logo), below the logo "D.R.P:" (German Empire Patent). The cover plates are made of brass with a black lacquering, the housings are coverd with rough paint, and the 273 eyecups are made of plastic. The velvet cushioned leather case was refurbished with a centreed holder, so that the two monoculars exactly fit in. The lid's inside is marked with the optician's address "G. Lee & Son, 33 The Hard, Portsmouth" and a crown. G. Lee & Son could be the trader of the case or of the original bincoulars, but probably also the one who carried out the modifications.

Das 18x ist 126-135mm lang, das 12x 133-140mm lang. Die schlanken Gehäuse sind oben ca. 45x45mm und unten 48x48mm breit. Die Objektivfassungen sind 29mm im Durchmesser, die Okulare 26mm, während Augenmuschel beim 12x 34mm und beim 18x 36mm im Durchmesser ist. Das 12x wiegt 247g, das 18x 236g, was wohl auf die unterschiedliche Länge der Okularhülse zurückzuführen ist.

The 18x glass is 126-135mm long, the 12x glass 133-140mm long. The slender housings measure 45x45mm at theri tops and 48x48mm at their bottoms. The objective frames are 29mm in diameter. The eyepieces have a diameter of 26mm, whereas the 12x ocular eyecup is 34mm, and the 18x ocular eyecup is 36mm in diameter.The 12x weighs 247g, the 18x only 236g. The difference is due to the different lengths of the ocular tubes.
