Francis Barker Compass Bearing Monocular

Dieses moderne 7x42 Porro-1-Monokular wurde unter dem Markennamen "Francis Barker" (einem traditionellen Britischem Kompasshersteller) von "Pyser-SGI Limited" in Edingbridge, Kent lediglich vertrieben, auch wenn die Deckelaufschrift "Made by Francis Barker" besagt. Da sich der Japanische Herstellercode "J-B 56" am unteren Brückenansatz befindet, wurde es von "Hiyoshi Kogaku Co. Ltd" gefertigt. Das komplett gummiarmierte Monokular hat einen Fernglasbrückenansatz, der hier zur Befestigung einer Stativfassung dient sowie als Extra einen eingegossenen einfachen Kunststoff-Kompass. Dieser sowie die leicht gelbliche Vergütung weisen auf eine maritime Nutzungsbestimmung hin. Es gibt eine eingegossene Trageriemenöse am Gehäuse in Bausch & Lomb Bauart. Das rechtsseitige Okular hat eine Weichgummiaugenmuschel, einen breiten vertikal geriffelten Plastik-Fokussierungsring mit einer Referenzmarkierung sowie eine Dioptrienskala von + bis - 4. An der Stativfassung ist die Nummer 0052L eingeschlagen.

It was made in Japan by "Hiyoshi Kogaku Co. Ltd" which is stated through the Japanese optical maker code "J-B 56" at the lower bridge mount. The fully rubber-armoured monocular has a bridge attachment which in this case serves to hold a tripod mount. The special feature is a simple cast-in plastic compass. The compass and the slightly yellow coating hint at a maritime designation. There also is a cast-in strap lug at the housing that has the typical Bausch & Lomb body. The right-hand sided ocular has a soft rubber eyecup, a broad vertically grooved plastic focusing part with a reference mark as well as a dioptre scale ranging from plus to minus four. The tripod mount is stamped 0052L.
