Dollond x8 (8x25)

Das 8x25 Monokular von Dollond London hat eine zweifach angeschraubte lange Trageriemenöse mit "x8" Kennzeichnung und der Seriennummer 1518 (2. Exemplar 1986); der obere Deckel ist mit "Dollond London" in der Raute, dem Firmenlogo, beschriftet. Die schwarz lackiertem zweifach verschraubten Deckel, das mit Vulkanit ummantelte Gehäuse und die Objektivfassung sind aus Aluminium. Das linksseitige Okularstück ist hingegen aus Messing. Es hat einen breiteren Sockelring,eine umlaufende Dioptrienkala mit Markierungen bei Null und +/- Fünf, einen kreuzweise diagonal geriffelten Fokussierungteil und eine Hartgummiaugenmuschel. Der mit blauen Stoff gepolsterte Innenteil des Köcherdeckels ist mit einer Krone und "Established 1750 DOLLOND London" in goldenen Buchstaben bedruckt.

This 8x25 monocular by Dollond London has a long strap-lug metal plate screwed onto the body with two screws, which is marked "x8" and with the serial number 1518 (2. model 1986). The top cover is inscribed with Dollond London within the diamond logo. The black lacquered cover plates - fixed by two screws - and the Ebonite covered body are made of aluminiums. so is the objective frame, whereas the left-hand sided eyepiece is made of brass. IThe eyeeice haas a wider base ring and a full dioptre scale being marked at +/- five and zero, a diagonally knurled focusing part, and a Ebonite eyecup. The blue linen cushioned inner lid of the case is inprinted with a crwon and "Established 1750 DOLLOND London" in golden letters.

Das 8x25 ist 111-120mm lang. Es wiegt 277g. Das Gehäuse misst oben 47x49mm und unten 48x52mm. Der Objektivtubus ist 33mm, das Okularstück am breiteren Ansatzring 25mm, ansonsten 23mm, der Fokussierungsteil 26,5mm und die Augenmuschel 33mm im Durchmesser. Das Modell mit Nr. 1986 hat eine lägnere Objektivfassung udn wiegt dadurch mehr, ca. 299g.

The 8x25 is 111-120mm long. Es weighs 277g. The hosuing measures 47x49mm at its top and 48x52mm at its bottom. The objective tube is 33mm, the eyepeice at its wider ring is 25mm, else 23mm, the focusing ring 26.5mm, and the eyecup 33mm in diameter.

Das zweite Modell mit der Nummer 1986 hat einen längeren, zweiteiligen Objektivtubus (15 mm lang) und eine -fassung (5 mm lang) und wiegt daher etwas mehr, nämlich ca. 299 g. Die Gesamtlänge beträgt zwischen 117 und 127 mm. Weitere Unterschiede sind: Das Gehäuse ist 62 mm lang; der 5 mm lange, dickere Ring am Okular beim oberen Deckel hat einen Durchmesser von 26 mm. Das erste Modell mit der Nummer 1518 hingegen hat ein 66 mm langes Gehäuse und einen 10 mm langen, dickeren Okularring neben der oberen Abdeckung.

The second model with number 1986 has a longer two-pieces objective tube (15mm long) and frame (5mm long), and hence weighs a bit more, i.e. c.299g, and the overall length is between 117 abnd 127mm. Other differences are: the housing is 62mm long; the 5mm long thicker ring on the eyepiece at the top cover is 26mm in diameter, whereas the first model with number 1518 has a 66mm long housing, and a 10mm long thicker eyepiece ring next to top cover.
