Dollond 6x28

Das Dollond 6x28 trägt die Nummer 123689A am oberen Deckel. Es besteht aus Messing mit einem Leder ummantelten Porro-1-Gehäuse sowie einer Bakelitaugenmuschel. Das rechtsseitige Okular hat eine Dioptrienskala von + bis - 5. Am Gehäuse ist eine Metallippe mit Trageriemenöse angeschraubt. Der Objektivtubus hat Exenterringe zum Justieren der Linse - ein Abschlussring könnte evtl. fehlen, da an der Objektivhülse ein Gewinde frei liegt. Der Lederköcher weist am Deckel einen "broad arrow" auf, den es am Monokular selbst nicht gibt. Wahrscheinlich wurde das Glas also nur in einem militärischem Behälter verstaut. Der Köcher ist am Deckel mittig mit "J. & B. Green, Ld. 1928" gestempelt, darum zieht sich die Kennzeichnung "Case No. 1 Prismatic Monocular (Mk 1)", und wiederum über dem Schriftzug die buchstaben "ORIA". Außerdem wurde mit gelber Farbe groß die Nummer 4112 aufgetragen.

This Dollond 6x28 has number 123689A inscribed on its top cover. The monocular was made of brass with a leather covering at the porro 1 housing and a Bakelite eyecup. The right-hand sided ocular has a dioptre scale ranging from + to - five. The housing has a metal lip with a strap lug screwed to it. The objective tube has eccentric rings to adjust the objective lens – a final retainer ring may be missing, because you can see a thread on the outside of the objective end. The leather case has a "broad arrow" stamped at its lid which the monocular itself does not have. So the glass was only stored in a military case. The case lid is also inscribed with "J. & B. Green, Ld. 1928"., followed with a semi-circular inscription of "Case No. 1 Prismatic Monocular (Mk 1)". Finally the letters "ORIA" are marked above this, and number 4112 is painted in big yellow letters over the date.

The monocular weighs 308g. It is 115-122m in length, the housing is measuring 48x48mm at its top and 52x52mm at its bottom. The right-hand sided eyepiece is 22mm, the focusing part 26mm, and the eyecup 34mm, the objective frame is 34mm in diameter as well.
