Carl Zeiss Vergr.=10

Das Carl Zeiss 10x25 Monokular mit gewölbten Deckel, Seriennummer 1147 und geschwungerner Gravur mit eingelegtem Silberlot "Carl Zeiss Jena Vergr.=10" datiert ca. aus dem Jahre 1903. Der Leder ummantelte Korpus hat einen angeschraubte 58mm lange Trageöse. Ob die drei Teile des Okulars noch orignal sind, ist zu bezweifeln. Die Bakelitaugenmuschel ist eher schwarz während die frühen Augenmuschel mehr bräunklich aussahen, der Fokussierungsring ist aus Aluminium, während die Originalteile meist Messing waren, der Dioptrienskalaring reicht bis + und - 10. Ein weiteres frühes Exemplar mit Nr. 86 sowie eines mit Nr. 498 haben die Originalaugenmuscheln (s. Foto).

The leather covered body has a screwed on 58mm strap lug. Whether all three parts of the turning eyepiece are still original is doubtful. The bakleite eycoü is black whereas orignal eyecups of that time rather looked brownish; the foucisng ring is made of alloy whereas the early parts were made of black painted brass; and the dioptre scale ring is marked from + to - 10 rather than + to - 5. Another early specimen with number 86 and another with No. 498 still have its original eyecups.

Das Monokular wiegt 325g. Das Gehäuse ist oben 54x54mm und uinten 60x60mm breit. Die Objektivfassung ist 31mm im Durchmesser, die 25mm Objektivlinse ist ca. 15mm in die Objektivfassung zurückverlegt. Das Okularstück hat einen Durchmesser von 25mm, die Augenmuschel von 33mm.

The monocular weighs 325g. The housing is 54x54mm at its top and 60x60mm at its bottom. The objective fram measures 31mm in diameter. The 25mm objective lens is recessed by 15mm into the objective tube. The eyepiece is 25mm in diameter, the eyecup 33mm in diameter.
