Carl Zeiss Jena AZF 15x30

Das AZF 15x30 (Auszugsfernrohr) ist wohl das einzige Modell von Zeiss eines terrestrischen Fernrohrs mit Auszügen, in diesem Fall 3 Auszügen. Es wurde von VEB Carl Zeiss Jena in den 1980er gebaut (s.a. Website "Astro-Fernrohre"; s.a. Werbeseite). Mit einem Gewicht von 371g scheint es für die private Nutzung bzw. Mitnahme eigentlcih zu schwer zu sein. Ursache ist die Verwendung von dicken Messingtuben, was das Fernrohr recht robust macht. Die Optik wurde mehrfach vergütet: magenta. Die schwarz lackierte Objektivfassung ist mit dem Firmenlogo, Modellnamen und den optishcen Daten beschriftet. Der Hauptubus ist meistens ocker lackiert (s. Prospekt), liegt aber auch in blau vor. Weiterhin sind Exmeplare mit anthrazit oder lila Lackierung im Internet aufgetaucht. Die flache Augenmuschel ist aus Kunststoff. einige Exemplare haben eine zusätzliche Weichgummiaugenmuschel mit seitlichem Blendschutz. Das AZF wurde mit einem weichen Ziegenlederfutteral und einer Schutzkappe geliefert.

The AZF 15x30 (Auszugsfernrohr = Draw-tube Telescope)is the only model of a terrestrial draw-tube telescope made by Zeiss. It has three draws. It was made by VEB Carl Zeiss Jena in the 1980s (see Website "Astro-Fernrohre"; also cf. advertising page). Weighing 371g it seems to be too heavy for a private, civilian use or carrying around. It is heavy because of the thick brass tubes used, although this is a robust build against damage. The optics are multi-coated (magenta). The black lacquered objective frame is marked with the company logo, the model name, and its optical data. Most models come with an ocre coloured main tube, but there are also some models with a blue finish. Other specimen seen on the internet have an anthracite or magenta covering. The flat eyecup is made of plastic. Some telesocpes also have a soft rubber flare eyecup. The AZF was delviered with a soft goat-skin case and a protection cap.

Das AZF ist zusammengeschoben 166mm und komplett ausgezogen 422mm lang. Die Objektivfassung ist 40mm, der Haupttubus 35mm, die Auszugstuben 27,5mm bzw. 24,5mm bzw. 22mm und die Augenmuschel 30mm im Durchmesser.

The AZF is 166mm long when closed, and 422mm long when completely exended. The objective frame is 40mm, the main tube 35mm, the draw tubes are 27.5mm, 24.5mm, 22mm, and the eyecup 30mm in diameter.
