Das "C-FAR" (englisches Wortspiel auf "see far" = weit sehen) ist ein Galileisches Fernrohr-System, dass lediglich mit zwei in Kunsstoff oder Horn eingefassten Linsen und ohne Gehäuse arbeitet. Hält man die kleine Linse (30mm) vor das Auge und mit der anderen Hand die große Linse (46mm) am ausgestreckten Arm ca. 45cm weg, erreicht man eine ca. 5fach Vergrößerung. Diese Anweisung ist im inneren des Futerals so angegeben : "Hold small lens near eye, large lens about 18 inches away." Eine ausführliche Betriebsanleitung befindet sich auf einem beigelegtem Zettel im Futteral (s.u.). Das mit "C-FAR BUFFALO OPTICAL COMPANY BUFFALO N.Y." in goldenen Lettern beschriftete Lederetui mit Druckknopf beinhaltet die beiden Linsen und die Anleitung. Es ist ca. 90x65mm groß und nur 10mm dick. Die größere Linsenfassung hat einen 50mm Durchmesser und ist mit dem Griff 78mm lang; die kleine Linsenfassung misst 26mm im Durchmesser und ist 61mm lang. Das Etui mit Inhalt wiegt 31g.

The "C-FAR" (pun on "see far") is a galilean telscopic system which just works with two plastic or horn framed single lenses and without any mounting frame. When you hold the smaller lens (30mm) close to the eye and the bigger one (46mm) with the other hand in arm-length (c. 18 inch) you achieve a5 times magnification. This instructions are giben inside the leather case: "Hold small lens near eye, large lens about 18 inches away." A elaborate manual is added on a slip of paper inside the case (s. below). The leather case contains both lenses each in one compartment as well as the manual. The case is marked "C-FAR BUFFALO OPTICAL COMPANY BUFFALO N.Y." with golden letters. It is 90x65mm wide and only 10mm thick. The bigger lens frame has a 50mm, the smaller one a 26mm diameter, they are 78mm and 61mm in length with their handles. The whole isntrument and case weihgs 31g.

Die Benutzeranleitung ist recht detailliert, nennt eine Vergrößerung von 5fach bei einem fünf Mal so geringem Preis wie für andere Galileische feldstecher. In einem Technikmagazin von 1928 wird das C-FAR für $2 angeboten.

The manual is quite detailled, states a 5 times power at a 5 times lower price than an equivalent field-glass. In a 1928 techical magazine it is advertised for $2.

The C-FAR Field Glass in principle
is the same as any other monocular
or binocular field glass with the
exception that focusing is done without
the usual mechanical attachments.
The C-FAR magnifies over 5 times
which is greater than most field
glasses costing at least 5 times more.
It has the advantage of greater
convenience in using, is easy to carry
and, cannot get out of order.
