Optik Werke BWCO 8x30

"Fernrohrlupe"

Dieses 8x30 Porro-1-Prismenmonokular ist aus der Zeit vor dem 2. Weltkrieg. Das Gehäuse und anderen Teile sind aus Aluminium, die Augenmuschel aus Bakelit. Der Korpus ist mit Leder ummantelt, die Deckel schwarz lackiert und einfach verschraubt. Der obere Deckel bildet aus einem überstehendem Teil eine Trageriemenöse (s. Barr & Stroud Deckel). Die Bechriftung am oberen Deckel ist "Optik Werke BWCO Frankfurt a.M." in einem Linsenlogo sowie darunter "Fernrohrlupe". Die Funtkion einer Lupe ist nicht mehr ersichtlich; es gibt keine ans Objekti aufsetzbare Nahlinse oder ähnliches. Die Dioptrienskala reicht von +4 bis -4, ist aber nur mit "0" sowie + und - gekennzeichnet. Der Objektivtubus hat eine kurze konische Verbreiterung und ist ansonsten gerade.

"Telescopic Magnifier"

This 8x30 porro 1 prism monocular dates from before WWII. The housing was made of aluminium, so are some other parts. The eyecup is made of Bakelite. The body has leather covering and black lacquered cover plates with only one screw. The top cover plate protrudes at one side forming a strap lug (see Barr & Stroud covers). The top cover is marked "Optik Werke BWCO Frankfurt a.M." (Optical Works BWCo Frankfurt a.M.) within a lens logo and below marked "Fernorhrlupe". The latter function is not apparent anymore, because there are no slip-on close-up lenses. The dioptre scale ranges from +4 to -4, but is only inscribed with "0", + and -. The objective tube has a short conical part, otherwise being straight.

Das Glas ist 117-125mm lang, das Gehäuse oben 53x53mm und unten 55x55mm breit, der Objektivtubus zunächst 35mm, dann 37mm im Durchmesser. Das Okularstück misst 24mm, der Fokussierungsteil 31mm und die Augenmuschel 37mm im Durchmesser. Das Monokular wiegt 216g. The glass is 117-125mm long, the housing measures 53x53mm at its top and 55x55mm at its bottom. The objective tube starts with a 35mm, and ends with a 37mm diameter. The eyepiece is 24mm, the focusing part 31mm, and the eyecup 37mm in diameter. The monocular weighs 216g.
